It feels like they are saying ha ha we have your money. Now shut up and deal with it.
Sad. It's just that if your a life-time member this really blows and if your a Rear Admiral 5 this really really blows.
and if your a Klingon who is all of these your so screwed. This is no way to run a game. and for those you say don't complain. Why not complain. Your paid money for this and your not getting any good service just excuse after excuse. MAN UP CRYPTIC GET THIS GAME ON TRACK AND STOP LYING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS.
SAD I met a GM he was flying around in a borg sphere and I wassn't on Tribble he was right near Vulcan and I was like, wow I bet many players would like to fly in a borg sphere.

Now that you know that it should be live tonight, let me add the old adage - be careful what you wish for.

As for Coderanger flying a Borg sphere - it's not like he was in PvP zone with it (I could just imagine your reaction to some of EQ's old GM events, but I digress). He was hanging around Sol Sector space. Chatting it up. Who cares what skin he's flying when he does so? Personally I think it's cool when devs pop in like that. To each their own, I suppose.

I don't get that impression. It seems more like "thanks for buying our game, here's a whole bunch of stuff we're struggling to get done for you!"

Sad. It's just that if your a life-time member this really blows and if your a Rear Admiral 5 this really really blows.and if your a Klingon who is all of these your so screwed.

    Huh? Care to elaborate?
This is no way to run a game. and for those you say don't complain. Why not complain.

No? Okay, what "way" are you referring to? Elaborate? Can you give counter examples of better ways to run a game?

I'm not saying don't complain, I just don't know what you're complaining about.

Well, I paid money, and I think I'm getting great service! In fact, the service is better than I thought. I got nailed with 3 infractions this week! Which means there's someone out there reading my rather brash responses to posts like this :)

No, but really, the game has had virtually no down time since I've been playing, and it's crashed once. Which was my own fault (unstable OC).

I don't feel lied to. I paid the amount advertised, and I have no questions as to the cost per month for the game. I also can't think of any in game moment when I went "Hey, wait a minute, where's X, Y, Z! They ripped me off!"

Nope, not yet! Actually, if I could be so radical, I could say STO has exceeded my expectations!

I'm not going to tell you to stop complaining, I'm going to kindly ask you to walk away from your keyboard. There is a whole world out there to explore, do something besides counting down the seconds to the next STO patch.

First of all the 12th is not even over yet. Remember Cryptic is on the Pacific time zone which means it is around 4:30 pm over there. That means they have another 2 and a half hours until the 12th is over. Secondly what is the big deal if they are only a day or 2 late yet we get a better quality patch? PLEASE answer that question.

    Um, what?

don't sit here and pick me apart there are far more members of this game who feel as I do.
When I said this is no way to run a game I am referring to the mountain of questions with no answers. the changing of time lines for new content with no explanation as if we wouldn't notice.
Many of us understand things happen but be honest and upfront about something. communication is key and there are times where there is a serious lack of it where Cryptic is concerned. you may not feel ripped off but guess what there are many who do. instead of picking on me try to see things from a point other than your own. I have but when you have dates setup keep to them for let your customers know what is going on. I personally am not attacking anyone. What I am saying is valid. Just as how you feel is Valid.
If you need more examples read a forum ask a gamer. read a zone chat. I am in a very large fleet and I know something or two about how players feel. I expected more from this game and yes there are a lot of excuses coming from Cryptic. Also no one said there was a problem with a GM flying in a borg sphere. I just pointed out that someone other than him would probably have liked to do the same. What would be better is if those GM's were around when there is a problem in the game.

All I have to say is that its much better to experience a more polished update and/or peice of content than a buggy and broken one that was rushed out of the door solely to meet the TENTATIVE release window that was given to the community. I applaud Cryptic for holding off in the name of quality.

Cryptic has never said that their Calendar is concrete, and I think dstahl in particular has done a great job with keeping the community updated via engineering reports. It's (seemingly) one day. It will all be okay, really.

No one wants a rush job but let the customer know it won't be ready there has been no
clear statement saying whats going on with it. just speculation. If it's not ready say that. but there is no comment. someone posted something a few replies up on this page saying it would tonight be ready based on how it's going so far. but again communication is important.

Okay, I'll agree with you that there could have been better communication with the community on this. I'm still curious as to why there isn't any "Scheduled Maintenence" news pieces posted yet if the patch will be going out tonight/tomorrow morning. There's a few things you need to take into consideration though. ..

    1. It's come to light that a few STO devs will be moving on to other opportunities very soon, if they're not already gone. It's a common thing to see in any work place, and it's also common for everyone else's job to get a little bit tougher by getting new team members in place and up to speed. As a result, production usually suffers while everything gets patched back together. dstahl has explained this in his most recent Engineering report. With getting back up to speed, communication with the customer can also suffer a bit due to focuses paid elsewhere.

    2. If there is a big problem with any of the key updates in 1.1, I would rather have the team working hard to address and eliminate said problem so they can get it out to us as soon as possible over reading and posting on the forums.

    3. The Calendar release windows are tentative. This is not the first time a release window has been missed, and it certainly won't be the last. Things don't always go according to plan.

Actually, the only member of the STO team that is confirmed as 'moving on' is:Cryptic_Gozer

The other schedul shake was caused by a newly hired character artist that was just assigned to the STO team per Dstahl's comments here

And to the poster abover the one I quoted:

As for whether we get a patch tonight, in Rekhan's comments on it has the comment:
    Usual disclaimer applies

meaning (and this has been stated time and again by numerous Devs as they post on upcoming feature/patch schedules: schedules subject to change. So, maybe it will hit tonight, or maybe next week; but as others have stated:

    1) I agree that if there are still major issues fom the testing on Tribble that haven't been resolved, or fixed, I'd rather see it delayed than pushed live with major issues.

    2) The Dev Team continues a pretty healty dialog on the state of the game - Dstahl answered a lot of questions directly about things that were and were not covered in the May 7 Engineering report.

So, it's not like the Dev Team is hiding anything. The latest stuff is on Tribble if you want to take a look at it, and I'm sure they'll push it to the Holodeck when they feel it's appropriate.
