things that could make the game better

here are a few of my ideas that could make STO better.

1. more customization for ships. like being able to use the nacelles , saucers and hulls from your lower lvl ships when you lvl up to customize your new ships.

2. more interiors of ships like your quarters you could customize with personal items like paintings and furniture.

3. better scaling on star bases and your bridges. the bridges for ships and most of the star bases are way to over scaled. a starship would never have a bridge so oversize it would be a wast of space and is not canon.

just a few of my ideas what do you think.

1- The issue they have with this is clipping. Your Miranda class pylons would not fit properly onto an Avenger class hull. They are trying to come up with ways of making more and more customization available. But do keep in mind that some pieces can't fit together properly. And they can't get around that.

2- This is in the works. Already noted by dstahl in an engineering report, one plan is to have accolades make "trophies" available to the players. Trophies we can then display in our Ready Room in our new ship interiors.

3- The bridge size issue is addressed by dstahl specifically. These pieces are the size they are because of concerns about combat or missions taking place there. The starbases are huge to house all of the people running back and forth. Your bridge is huge because they either are going to use the same maps in story arc mission combat in the future, or are going to use those bridges in mission content itself (as in, a big fight on YOUR bridge).

All decent suggestions. One of which I believe is on its way this summer. The other two face technical obstacles that might not make them immediately possible. But perhaps some variation or compromise can be reached?

1: This would probably cause IP issues for a IP-protective CBS.

2: Ship interiors are coming in the future.

3: They're made over-large so that groups can eventually fight in them. 5 against 5+ battles would become visually cramed in a standard-size hallway.

At least its constructive feedback, dont need to squash all the hopes and dreams.

1 - Correctly-scaled bridges. Correctly-scaled interiors. Battles SHOULD be tight on bridges - they're small.

2 - Seamless zoning between sectors, or even a single, unified zone for Sector Space.

3 - The ability to set crew uniforms, so my Bridge Officers aren't the only ones in the uniforms I designate.

4 - Functional viewscreen when communications come in.

5 - Voiceovers for my Bridge Officers, not popup screens. Sometimes they're standing right next to me, so the popup is especially wierd.

It's very constructive feedback. I think even if some of suggestions 1 and 3 are technically limited that the suggestion themselves are valid and good feedback. And that perhaps with enough discussion and back and forth with developers, that perhaps a variation or a compromise might be attained.

Some things in this game I don't think can change. I don't think a Miranda's pylons will ever fit properly on an Avenger. Or a Defiant.

I don't think the skill cap is ever going to be lifted to allow for free for all type of thing players are asking for.

I don't think raid loot is ever going to drive this game's end-game content the way some players want it to.

But I do think there are ways to find some compromise or some possible variation on an idea to make the game experience better.

I'm not trying to crush the OP's hopes at all. All three were decent suggestions.

I believe suggestion 3 is being worked on. Much like the Being Able to Sit Down Properly in the captain's chair functionality, it keeps getting sidetracked or buried by other suggestions. And keeps moving around on the schedule. But it is in the mix.

    :)

I'd love number 4, btw. Absolutely go nuts for something like that.

Actually I meant CBS....I should have changed that in my post. CBS would have to approve a star on the map, imagine the potential they are holding the game back.

I WANT MY NEBULA!!!! ok, I feel better. I hope that Cryptic can get their hands untied by CBS. I mean, seriously. Ok, sorry OP not hijacking this thread.

OP has a lot of good idea's, dont worry about CBS, lets keep the idea's coming.

I'd LOVE for a Nebula to be put in-game too.

And an Excelsior. And a Constellation. I'm always in support of more ships.

I agree with all of these but 5. I don't have the volume on when i play.

The ship bridges and other interiors aren't only large because of combat, but because of NPC pathing issues. They said as they figure out better pathing patterns and whatnot, the interiors may shrink.

I think the Star cruisers should ONLY have large bridges, lol.

Yes pretty much all this needs to happen.

I understand Cryptics reasoning behind the huge Scaling but they need to come to terms with the fact that it was a bad idea and "Cheeses" more people off then it makes happy.

If I have said it once I have said it a million times Sector space needs to happen via the Bridge of your ship with Communication done on the View Screen because hey THAT'S STAR TREK

I really miss the BO voiceovers they added so much to the immersion of the game, they need to be brought back

The bridge size issue has bugged me from the beginning.

There's a simple solution to the too-large bridge problem.

    Two versions of each bridge.

    1. The fighting map version, which is oversized to allow battles without NPC pathing & camera problems.

    2. The vanity bridge version, where you can practise sitting in the Captain's chair, inspect your BO's, invite other people, and hopefully, in the future, actually do something.

    Immersive question:
Why is the bridge larger when you fight on it?

    Immersive answer:
It's not - it just seems that way because of all the adrenalin. :)
(or if you're in your own TV show, it's the camera lens - marvels can be accomplished by using the right lens)
