sorry to have a moan(and i'm sure ppl have asked this before),but is there a chance, that you good people at cryptic, can chance the look of some of the ships?seriously, some of them are ghastly to look at.a lot of them are just knobbly bricks with nacelles.
the best looking ship i've piloted, was the captain sci ship.that was beautiful.that or the goldfish bowl ship(can't remember the name).then when i hit admiral,i chose the recon sci ship.eeeeew.:eek:just nasty.
does anyone have a ship they think is horrible to look at?and if so,what one?
I don't focus too much on the look of any particular ship. If it looks close to what I think a Starfleet ship should look like I'm generally content to use it until the next ship-type comes along.

Only the canon ships look good to me. The Cryptic ships well change the p out for a t in the word ship and you'll see my opinion of them.
I haven't had any ships i think are horrible to look at since i hit RA5. Anything i don't like the look of i throw away and go buy something i do like the look of. At the moment after my prommy every other ship is just fluff and in my list because i specifically like it.
Though if you're meaning out of any ship i'll go with the zephyr steamrunner remake, there's no cowling over the nacelles so they just look like some kid came along and glued them onto the ship

Yup, I'm on a RSV, wish I'm on a DSSV just because the level of detail is comparable to other ship classes (assault cruiser sovereign, escorts of both flavors, etc.). I purchased the nimbus variant and it looks gorgeous, but the turn rate between RSV and DSSV is just too much; in the end I chose function over form.
All 3 of the RSV variants look like they were put in with minimal effort. If you put the default hull color to 1 (whitest) then have all parts overlayed with Virgo in black/black, you'll see the lack of symmetry and overall blandness of the ships.
The polaris main saucer's top level aren't even smoothed out properly. The two dome halves don't have a nice smoothness where they come in contact with the main saucer.
I'll post back in this thread with pictures when I get home from work to highlight some of the major stuff, but hey, the needs (wants) of the many outweigh the wants of the few. The almighty galaxy class has been through a redraw already, with the galaxy x on the way for T5. RSV captains? meh.
The main kicker is that they're releasing the Comet RSV skin LAST (lol thanks cryptic).

Which RSV were you citing in your example?
The Titan, for instance, is based on a ship from the books. And so had to look like it looks since it already had official specs. From a contest that the book series ran. Calling the Titan ugly is just like calling the Defiant ugly. Nothing Cryptic could do about either.

The Avatar of Cormoran above me is proof that the ships are indeed just as small as the human Avatar.
You will never get something that is so small to look as big.
It's like flying Micro Machines instead of proper Models. (<- click the links please)
