Terradome - When's it coming?

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
So, after Terradome was put back the first time I was a bit dissapointed but it looks like it's going to happen today as it's due out anytime up to the 12th (i.e. now) and no word.

Any chance a dev can weigh in on when we'll get this and the rest of season 1.1. supplemental? Can't wait personally :-)

The calendar shouldn't be taken as gospel. I think dstahl said they were keeping it on Tribble a little longer, but I might be thinking of Memory Alpha updates.

That said, it's on the test server now so it should be fairly soon...not today, though. My guess is it'll move over to live whenever the next patch goes in.

    In its current form ?

    Next Week more likely.

At best, Cryptic might launch the Memory Alpha changes or the C-Store items... cant miss a chance to fleece people of money items naturally. I'm guessing we wont see anything new until around the 31st... maybe next month... you know to push it over the next billing cycle.

It is posts like this that make it hard for us to keep you guys informed. If you can't handle the realities of shifting schedules, don't ruin it for everyone else :P

    Amen brother.

Having transparent developers with late releases is infinitely preferable to having silent developers with surprise releases that are only on time because you are ignorant of the schedule in the first place. :)

Yep go ahead cry and whine about it.....

But you would be one of the first to again cry and whine it was buggy and broken if Cryptic pushed it live without proper testing.

I believe they explicitly said the calender was not set in stone.... SEVERAL TIMES.

I know the status of Teradome and the new update for Memory Alpha by checking the Tribble server forums. It is already up there and you can check it out yourself if you want. They want to be sure it is ready to release on the live server... even then, they can't catch everything.

And somewhere a dev made a post explaining that some recent team changes had changed the schedule. Lear 2 look for the info before accusing them of not putting it out, as opposed to just poor bookmarking skills :)

Just to chime in, I too would rather have the transparency of the scheudle even if you miss a few dates. Thank you Cryptic for trying something new. please keep it up!

I agree with Coderanger. I would much rather have the calender and see when things are upcoming and I am totally fine with dates slipping past when they are posted up there... but when the release window for something passes could we get a new date posted for it?

Note - I don't mean for every little thing as that would be quite a time sink, but the big stuff like new STFs and the like would be nice to have an idea of when it is planned to release.

you can partially blame people like me who like to break stuff, which we did to things like undine terradome. Besides it being longer on tribble = more testing = more patches = better stf on holodeck.

The calendar is awesome, even if it's not 100% accurate. It's something I'm really hoping CO does eventually, because it's great to have a general idea of what's coming up.

Isn't Alyvian one of the ones who's been testing the heck out of Undine STF? Almost everything I've seen from Alyvian in chat lately has been about that particluar bit of content.

I believe last night I was reading quite a few comments about some of the issues with the STF while Alyvian was in the middle of it?

The live servers aren't so huge where we don't bump into each other a lot. The test server? It's a tiny community.

No chance of it being patched tonight unless they meant the test server.

If they launch that thing on Holodeck in its current form its going to be a disaster. Its bad enough its taken until this week for them to fix bugs from Infected.

ya shouldnt underestimate me ya should know that by now :P, i know there is an internal patch already and i know partially what is in there. Regardless though, they sounded suprised on the way we broke it on tribble.

First off... I would much rather have a 1+ week delay on content to make sure it works well and is bug free... It keeps "ZOMG IT'S BORKED!!!!11!" posts of the forums...

Secondly... please put a pop up disclaimer on the calendar page, in which you must read a sentence explaining how the dates are subject to change... then have a 5 question quiz as to what the sentence said and meant... only after having completed that quiz, could one view the calendar...

ahhh true that, exclude me on that though, cause of that policy i went blue.

also before we deviate to much, undine terradome NEEDS to be kept on tribble till its optimised properly.

There are reasonable players out there that would rather just keep informed. I don't delve into the forums too closely and use the Calender to keep track of what updates are scheduled.

When i got home from work an hour ago and saw that there hasn't been a patch yet I was very disappointed. It would have been nice to get some sort of note in the patcher or calendar page informing the player base of the delay. I'd rather have a quality product then an unfinished one, so I (and many other players) completely understand if there is gonna be a delay of a few days, or a week or whatever. You guys intentionally gave yourselves a decent sized window to post the update, and ya missed it, so please please keep us informed. That's all I ask!

P.S. I also ask that you update the Calender in general and let us know what to expect for June and July....It would really help us to recruit new players and earn those rewards!
