New cube animations HORRIBLE!

I really do not think those new Borg Cube death animations are very spectacular or good. :(
Sure the great white flash is cool, but a cube just being cracked into two pieces? whats that all about?

I'm sorry Cryptic, but it just looked so much better and epic having the cubes break apart in to dozens of violently spinning pieces..... A LOT BETTER.

    Except its not Star Trek...... borg ships period "never" just split into two chunks of a ship.....ever. :rolleyes:

    where did you see this? Holodeck or Tribble?

    The Cubes glitch a lot anyway...
    they glitch into each other (OMG @ enemy encounters)
    the Textures change instantly between 3 states (that all look equaly low quality to me)
    sometimes they fly through asteroids, sometimes they hang at the asteroid and RESET themselfs!

    in Gamma Orionis Sectorspace if one of those DSE Cubes catches a Player and this small Red Cloud appears it is still as big as the Cube so there is an invisible wall arround the tiny red cloud (same with the Crystaline Entity)


    I did not notice any change to the explosions... only that they allways looked ugly and unimpressive from a Graphics point of view.

    they change the animation and it sucks!!! can't see if there is a drop without flying into the remains

    The change is both on Holodeck and Tribble since its live now, basicly instead of breaking up into lots of little whirling pieces, the cubes now just die with a single large chunk breaking off from them, and zero debris.

    With the new animation, you have to wait longer to see if you've earned a item drop, as the cube remains have to drift out of the way to reveal it... And I would also be seriously concerned if those white flashes could trigger an epileptic fit in some people...

    They are extremely distracting.... the first time i saw them i thought my graphics card was failing. :(
    And people who like it obviously have never watched a Borg episode of Star Trek. :rolleyes:

    yeah because a miniature and pyrotechnics display should really be the first thing on cryptics mind when they think canon. :rolleyes:

    grouchy has good reasons for it not to be in but debating canon on how something blows up is ludacrous. if they want to fix things like that they should fix large vessels popping like balloons and dissapearing in tiny explosions first.

    My point is that the cube explosions were a lot better before, hence all they need to do is a rollback on those. :p
