I have been trying in a few posts to give some ideas on how to make PvP more interesting. This would only be for RA5 pvp.
A score board on the website. The website would put into a group for scoring depending on what you are flying. Escort would go into escort scoring, BOP would go into BOP and so on.
Many things would factor into how you rank.
Damage dealing type ships.
wins = +
Loses = -
kills = +
Deaths = -
The higher the score the higher you rank. So lets say x player has the best score 200 and the next best has 180 they would fall in order of #1 and #2.
I am not a Sci or Crueser player so not really sure how to score them, but i am sure something could be worked out.
This would give ppl a reason to pvp, see where they stand compared to others and MAYBE keep ppl from being stupid in pvp.
You'll probably want to have a healing/damage metric as well factored in for the cruisers and others. If i'm in healer mode, I won't be scoring many kills, but a 330K healing vaule in a cracked planetoid should get me something instead for a ranking. Science may get the shorter end of the stick though; if they're in a support role, how would we measure CC?
to easy to exploit just go into salvage with a buddy that don't care, and kill him over and over to beef your score.
tracking damage/healing/deaths/kills can be easily manipulated the way the game stands.
I personally like to do this: At the end of the first PvP daily mission I take record of the top damage dealers that round. Next round I hunt them down and kill them constantly, making sure they are at the low end of the list for that round. Rinse and repeat for last round. (all of this on Salvage, FvF)
And I keep a list of "unlikables" that I enjoy killing and will go out of my way to hunt down and destroy with extreme enjoyment
I think someone takes the game score too personally.
I would prefer a score, which takes in account all factors in CaH scenarion, not just dmg, kills or deaths.
+
Kills
Dmg done
Hull healing done
Shield healing done
Supportive powers used on friendlies
Time spend with capturing points
-
Deaths
Dmg Received
Hull Healing received
Shield Healing received
Time spend of outside of combat / action after certain period of time (aka doing nothing)
Im sure some math guru could create some nice algorithm which would create out of those variables some nice performance number, which then would be compared to other people in the pvp scenario

I can see your point. Maybe if they make it so it is a fleet vs fleet only. Make a premade only map and it has to be fleet vs fleet. I doubt any fleet worth thier salt would want a guy on thier team who dies just to beef up someone elses score.
Also you could add a leader board to the website that tracks fleets and how they are doing in the pvp matches. There are plenty of fleets out there who only pvp.
