My thoughts on PvP

I gave PvP a try today, on a map that I thought was supposed to not be active until there were 5 players minimum on each side.....boy am I mistaken!

5 Klingons vs 2 Federation (I was on the Federation side)....all I can say is What the Heck???? I left the exploration mission I was to get destroyed 6 or 7 times?

I honestly think that there the abort mission button should be active when the PvP situation is THAT lopsided. And yes, I would be of the same opinion if I was doing Klingon instead of Federation. (I would imagine that the real Klingons would think of such a lopsided victory a very chicken way of winning....)

Sorry man you had one of those games, better luck next time and that happens to everyone basicly it works like this...

5 guys from fed side ques
5 guys from kling side ques
    game starts
    5 klings push engage
    2 feds push engage
3 is either afk or push snooze or leave..

if you que and it starts it should pull you in not give you the option

if your enemies left (2 minutes with no opponents) you should auto win

if you leave early because it is lopsided or log off to get out of it, you should be penalized. a PVP Chicken title mandatory for 24 hours minimum

You really think someone should be obliged to stay on the bad side of a 5x2 match?

Yeah, as Zorena pointed out, this is the result of players not pushing "Engage!" when the queue window pops up. Since Cryptic has currently nixed the option to leave PvP while they contemplate an appropriate penalty for dropping during a match, we're stuck with lopsided teams for the time being.

    My opinion:

    1) If players queue for a PvP match, they should be required to join when the "Engage!" button pops up. Still give them up to 60 seconds to finish whatever they're doing, change loadouts/BOs, etc.

    2) If/when Cryptic institutes a penalty for leaving a match, players who (for whatever reason) decide they don't want to PvP after all can do so by opting to drop and take the penalty.

    3) Allow players who queue using the "Join Any Game" option to join any game. Currently, players can only join within the first 2 minutes of the match. I admit I may be mistaken about the 2 min limit :\

    4) Allow teams to vote to kick player from match. Must be uninimous. This lets us boot those players who AFK, intentionally give up defeats, or otherwise refuse to PvP and just end up $&%#ing things up for the rest of their team. I'll admit, a function like this would be tricky to implement and even harder to ensure it wouldn't be abused.

...eh, I didn't intend to rant. Just my thoughts. Things like this bug me to no end.

Currently there is some kind of time limit (don't know what it is, but my best guess is 15 minutes). After that limit has passed, the match reopens for people queued. This obviously needs to be changed.

Another thing that is going on is some people apparently either have a 2nd account or they switch out with friends or something because you will have some people that join the match and won't participate they just sit there which is obviously a pathetic method by some people of slanting the odds in there favor.

There should be a max limit as well or at least a system that does not allow match's to be joined by an overwhelming number of one side or the other, I can't count the number of times I have been in match's where there are 5 feds and 15 klink's most of those are late comers to the match. There needs to be a system that watch's the numbers on both sides and only kicks out invites to even the numbers so if there are 2 feds and 5 klinks no more klinks can join but it would kick out invites to 3 feds in an attempt to level the playing field.

Right now as it stands the system is being abused by those that believe wining is more important then anything else and I am sure that there is a vent or several vent/voice programs and they tell there friends to join this match and then they can overwhelm.

The other part of the problem is that some people are obviously loading there fed toon and just FP into the crowd of 15 klinks over and over with the large number of people I see doing this it has to be intentional probaly more of the same people in those same chat programs slanting the odds in there friends favor and then they arrange to switch so that every one can win a little. I can't believe that that many people are so stupid as to actually believe that there one ship is going to do anything useful to 15 kilnks.

I think these things are a symptom of klinks not having pve content or at least not enough to keep them interested in doing something else to lvl. Although I am sure that even when the klink pve goes up that so many are use to the easy lvling these methods allow it is going to be a heck of a hurtle for cryptic to over come.

I'll name my Vulcan's next tiered ship "PVP Chicken". That's awesome.
