i'v not had any bug issues, but i hit RA5 with my first toon on sunday, i did infected, was a blast. time-wise i cant really play much during the week so i'll probably jump in a pug for cure over the weekend.
but to pass time while online, and not just staring at my screen after the dailies are done, i rolled an alt. and im enjoying the 2nd run through
I got to RA5 on ym main after2 months, created a tac,got bored becuase cannon firing arcs are TRIBBLE and enemies move to fast to track. then created an engineer alt, got to RA3 in a month..
my main complaint is that the middle ranks of captain have no missions, so you have to do loads of exploration missions or sensor contacts. the same goes for RA.. from RA1-3 there seem to be no missions, so am running like 30 exploration missions a day to get up to RA5 to do STFs...

I have a Fed Science RA 5 and an assortment of alts.
I've maintained a list of bugs reported to cryptic since I started playing and I update the list after each patch. I am satisfied that with each patch more of the bugs I have reported are being addressed.
I'm not bored yet. I'm helping a growing fleet with new members and new players and I am experimenting with BOff builds, ship equipment builds and the actual contribution of Captain skills to game results.
I accept the skill cap as necessary; it affords consequences for the choices we make for our character progression and we have the ability to alter those choices should we wish to. If our characters could learn every skill at rank 9 at RA5 this would remove some of the variety and reason for choices in the game.
I make my own goals in any mmo I play. I guess I am that rare forum user who is a satisfied customer.
There is no reason for one. I can live with some kind of sliding scale the keeps up the the cost after RA5 but I hope for no cap. As for the other part go take a break STO is just taking forever to fix things. Everyone wants them to go faster. Said but Star Trek is a super heavy content universe something the game seem to be short on.

OK First off Im am a RA 5 Engineering Captain.
I have a Star Cruiser (U.S.S. Peacemaker)
And an Deep Space Science vessel (U.S.S. Fire Research)
I started playing (Lifetime member) the middle of Feb.
Made RA 5 in about 6 weeks.
My skills are max toward Engineering and Polaron weapons.
I have polarons because I felt few folks would protect themselvess against Polaron as few use them.
I saved most of my missions for fast point builders when/if the cap is raised.
I am sure many of you have seen me (U.S.S. Peacemaker)
I just go find a fight park in the middle of it blow everything up and goto the next.
I have all but two (2) of my BO slots full. Each speced out max
I have left the last two (2) BO Slots for when/if the nurfing stops and then I will fill/max them also.
As for Bored NO I feel the game is coming along well. Starting a new MMO when it first comes out has both benefits and draw backs You get built to max right away then wait for the changes to slow, then rebuild to the new specs.
This might sound fishy BUT Fun for me is blowing into a pack (10-15) bad guys with new folks lurking around and cutting loose with my front four (4) Duel Beam Polarons
Eight (8) beams on fire-at-will has a look you gota see
I feel the game is going in the right direction, might not be as fast as some want but for the most part patches that make it to live seem to work right.
My hat is off to the Devs good job and keep up the great work

I feel like this, but then again I still have plenty to do and I haven't even started my daily stuff yet.
I have a RA 5 Tact and a BG 5 Tact Officer among other alts, I do my dailys maybe run a few extra PvP matches with friends for fun. Other then that it's game over. I do NOT like the ground part of the game as the AI for it is weak for away team members and the NPC's we fight. Also I hate the bugs, maps where they disappear or fall into the world or simply stop responding. Skills that don't function as they should or have been nerfed to the ground, IE stealth for one example. Once the ground combat has been overhauled and fixed, I'll try it again. Currently, it just slows down the space part of the game that i do like, so I skip all ground now that I have done all the Fed PvE missions and well on the KDF side .... . I would love to do ground though but every time I give it a go the glaring issues annoy me so much I have to just stop.
So for me this leaves out Infected / Cure / Kit and that really doesn't bother me except for 1 thing. Those are the only things in game to really be part of a Fleet for, but that's not really needed ether. I would like more space Fleet actions, something to give being in a Fleet a use for, other then socializing. Huge space battles with 20+ members of my Fleet with no ground junk would be great and something worth being in a Fleet for. And as far as CE goes well it's close but as we can't exclude people from pugging in and healing the CE out of inexperience or griefing, it doesn't fit the bill. Some PvP huge space fleet only action would be great too, but this also brings us back to worth of doing them. So far I see little need or reason loot wise to even do most things. PvE and PvP badges cover pretty much all needs.
Now as far as going outside to do something else, well that would be all well and fine if the game was Free to Play but its not. We pay to play, there should be more then enough in game to do to keep someone interested whenever they want to log on and for however long they wish to play. Not just a few PvP matches and a few dailys to build up badges that you don't really need anymore. Why pay for something that can't meet your interest level? The thing people seem to forget is we pay a sub for the game, if the goal is only to keep a person interested for a few hours then the game needs to go F2P. F2P is a perfect format for casual gamers. You pay a sub for two reason's and it's content and access to said content.
On reporting bugs, there was a beta period for this, I do not pay to play a game to file bug reports during a time I have set aside for gaming, this is a duty of the Tribble server, beta testers and devs. We are out of beta and instead of working on skirts and costumes for the C-Store or emotes or whatever other fluff that want to try to sell this week they should be fixing and improving what there is. When they DO add content or do a promotion it will function properly and might retain players from said promo. I don't mind reporting one or 2 bugs during say a months time but depending on Rank and what your doing you can find them just about every time you log in. At least I can it seems.
Yes, before i get the "they all work in different departments and things come out at different times speech" just think of the perception of adding C-Store stuff over the rest. Timing is key in everything and somethings are best released at the right time. If they would have held back the C-Store and Promo junk till Season 2 or the next major content addition would it have been so bad? They would have looked a lot less like a F2P + C-store game money grab. Sorry and I know people will disagree but the game does feel like desperate money grab to me with the way things have played out with the C-Store, RAF, and weekend Promo.
I would make more Alts if those alts had more to them then just a few skills but in truth I find my 2 Tact officers one on each side flies everything just fine. Maybe not min / max optimal but just fine none the less. Maybe if the classes had more to separate them it would interest me. The thing i would love to do is explore the gear and game system more but at 20k honor / merit a pop or 6.25$ for a C-Store Re-spec I think I'll pass. I also don't wish to have to buy more toon slots I have 5 already.
I will still play yet, heck I have been doing more on the forums then in game of late but I am hoping Season 2 brings more to the table and I think a lot of other players are as well. Everyone I have talked to at least is pinning there hopes on Season 2.
Disclaimer
Many will flame or disagree and that's fine, this is my take on the game atm. Wrong or Right. I like many parts of STO and I want it to grow into something worth subbing for, So please keep that in mind and no I am not a hater, nor am I a fanboi, I am just a gamer voicing what he feels about STO as it is today.
already moved on to an lotro subscription. the sound is awesome, quests abound, there are lots of people playing all the time. i loved sto, until i realized the devs were making it worse, not better.
it was fun to shoot phasers though. i might check back for that in 3 months.

Star Trek had 40 years to develop their content...
Cryptic has had 22 months....
Programming isn't magic, the developers cannot just throw a few "trekkies" into a volcano and be given content by higher powers.
I can understand people being bored with the end game, I was starting to get bored, myself, Then I joined my fleet. The fleet you join can make all the difference in the world, association with good, fun people is what MMO games are about, otherwise we might as well keep playing single player games.
I spent some time recruiting this last weekend, and met some awesome people, gave them some pointers, helped them get equipment and tried spreading good tidings. I feel good, they felt good, and had a great time. I spent very little time "pew-pew-pewing", but that isn't what Trek is all about, is it?
