I kinder like this game but still on the fence.
A few questions:-

Do the Borg Adapt? - I took out loads of Borg in the demo and not one of them adapted to my phaser. (I know this would make the game harder but I think it would be cool if they did)

Rank/Levelling - Demo really didn't show how this benefits the player :S I'm confused on how it works.

Ships - Do better ships open up when you Rank up?

Space - Can I warp in to Klingon/Borg and so on space for a fight?

Thanks

The tutorial Borg seem to be different from the ones you encounter later in the game. Those do have a kind of adaptation feature - they start without shields, but after a few hits, their shields build up.

You earn skill points by completing missions. You can spend these skill points to improve your skills. These skills affect either abilities or your ship's performance (be it more damage with Phasers or better maneuverability in your cruiser). As you gain skill points, your grade improves. This alone doesn't do much, though. You have to actually spend your skill points to gain access to class-specific abilities or increase your rank.
Ships - Do better ships open up when you Rank up?
Yes. Every time you gain a new rank, you also can get a new ship.
Space - Can I warp in to Klingon/Borg and so on space for a fight?
Yes. For once, in sector space, you can find enemy contacts that you can engage. In other sector spaces, you can engage Klingon players (though technically, due the way player vs player is set up, you can do this everywhere as long as you join a PvP queue). Towards the endgame, you can enter a new sector space (Gamma Orionis) where you can fight Borg. (And there are also two war zones near Klingon space that you can enter where you compete with Klingon players and have to engage Borg.)

Thank you, you've just sold the game to me.

    1. Borg Adapt, I'm not sure I would say they would seeing as how the ones you run into at the higher end are far more difficult to the ones you face in the begining. you wont see them again until near the end of your leveling though. They seem to have shields that regen faster than other npc's maybe someone could give you the specifics. On Advanced or Elite though they are tough.

    2. Rank/Leveling: works like this you have 11 Levels per rank, so for example Captain 1 to Captain 11, at Captain 11 you have earned enough skill points to reach Rear Admiral 1. Everything you do earns skill points, once you spend those skil points you will rank up, it is possible to be a LtCommander 12 or so if you don't spend the points in your skill boxes to level up. So spend as you go and you'll have enough to be the next rank once you hit 11 in whatever grade you are.

    3. Ships: Yes you get better ships as you level, they cost nothing for hte first one in each tier of ships. If you desire another ship of a paticular tier after your first it will cost credits.

    4. You will eventually be led to borg space, and parts of Klingon space, some parts with Kronos are off limits to federation players at this time. You can always find a fight in any area though and if you're looking for pvp against klingons you can queue yourself from anywhere.

    Hope this helps
