Can't Log In

Since the patch a couple weeks back I have been unable to log in. I have made sure my drivers are updated and my internet is running fine. The problemi is when I try to log in through the launcher everything looks good until I hit the engage button. When I do it looks like its going to load I get a loading animation on my cursor. When I check the process tab in my Task Manger it shows that the gameclient.exe is running, but nothing happens. I dont see the in game log in or anything.

I have tried to log in using safe mode as suggessted by tech support, and the same thing happened. I have tried to bypass the launcher by opening the gameclient.exe in my program files directly. When I do it that way I go right to the log in screen. I put in my info and it looks like it might work here, but then I get "unable to connect to account server". Please any help would be great.

    couple of things
    i. sometimes firewalls and antiviruses programs will reflag a programe that is patched requiring you to reauthorized them. Windows defender will also sometimes do this on its update. so recheck those.
    2. if using vista or win 7 try resetting the launcher and gamecleint to run as admin.
    3. If using the win7 or vista do not have the program installed in the program files direcotry.
    4. before the next start of the game make sure all instant of startrek0nline or game client is removed from the task manger process section.

You can not run just the game client it need information that launcher passes to it to connect to the game.

I'm running XP so the 7 and vista don't apply. I checked my Symantec Antivirus and my Firewall settings. I have both Star Trek Online and gameclient.exe allowed through the firewall. I still can not load the game.

I would try removing them from the firewall and antivirus . reboot and then readded them to the exception list (using full path) to the firewall and antivirus to see if that make a different.
