Shame on you for posting an "I Quit" thread... a "I'm not resubbing" is also a form of "I Quit" as well. The reason they lock that type thread is they are flame/troll magnets. All they have ever done is cause problems for the community.
The OCM people read them and see what you have to say and then close them. Your opinion IS taken in to account.
I put a post on this morning saying that I tried the comeback weekend and explained that I won't be resubbing and why.
I simply stated too instanced and also feeling lonely playing as people didn't seem to speak much when grouped.
This post was then removed?
Also I posted on someone elses thread who also gave reasons why they will not be resubbing and I note that thread has also gone.
So let me get this right, I quit threads are not allowed and posts of why we are not resubbing are also not allowed even if they explain why?
So all Cryptic wants now is positive threads giving out 1 side of the story?
Shame on you Cryptic.
That is basically it. I assume at some point this will be locked with some note about "We take it into account, but this isn't the correct forums" which means "You make us look bad, and we get less players this way."
And while I hate to do this anymore, in Cryptic's defense, it is their game and forums, they can do whatever they want.
So all Cryptic wants now is positive threads giving out 1 side of the story?
You're jumping to a silly extreme. You're free to complain and discuss the game's shortcomings all you like, as long as you do it in a manner that's constructive and not insulting.
If you read the forum guidelines, you'll see that "I quit" threads are not allowed, because they tend to devolve into flames, and they're generally not constructive. You can post constructive complaints without announcing that you're quitting.
Also, threads about moderator actions are not allowed. You can PM the moderators directly for clarification of their actions.
Quit posts have always been against forum guidelines. So are threads with flamebait/troll titles. This stuff is posted right up top in forum guidelines.
But they just lock the threads, not remove them. Negative threads that stay completely constructive are not locked.
As for your thread, I can see it was just locked, and was posted on the General Feedback forum, not this one. Which may be why you couldn't find it.
Okay Okay I hear what your saying however in my defense this isn't I quit thread this is feedback on the welcome back weekend and the reasons why I won't be resubbing.
Yes your right it is there game. Yes your right you cannot say I quit however I already quit before so it isn't an I quit thread exactly. Tenious I know.
Are those of you who defend the game to the hilt, happy that people like myself who bought the game, wasn't happy, came back again 2 months later to give it a chance and still not happy but explain why then find that you cannot express why (constructively)? If this is the case then its obvious to me that this community is not one that I would want join.
All views should be expressed either possitive or negative and if your not happy with the views, then discuss or ignore but to surpress... Well.

Thanks friend. I didn't know that.
I take back all I said. My apologies.
Still don't like being censored but I feel silly.:o

Actually I was wrong about the lock part. I was right about the other forum part. Your thread is still open here. And I think you stuck to guidelines just fine. It was good feedback.
My opinion is that i'm glad they remove those post because they dont do anything for the community as
constructive post as what should be change etc. Some maybe yes but most post like that only feed the trolls and whiners who only want to bring negativity to the forum.

EDIT - never mind someone above already found it
i just found it by going through your post history. as far as i can see its still there, they just moved it to general community feedback. they are trying to tidy up the boards
It's all part of Cryptics new approach to keep the STO Discussion topic all warm and fuzzy for the new Demo players. Any real STO discussion is now relegated to the Feedback subforums to die quietly at the bottom of the page
The problem isn't the unhappy posts themselves - it's the self-appointed 'Cryptic Defense Squad' - you know who they are - that same handful of posters that has shown us (over and over and over) that they can't let such posts simply drop out of sight and into the oblivion of page two and beyond. No, the individuals comprising this group seem to feel it is their civic duty to argue (on and on and on) with the unhappy posters, thereby BUMPING the unhappy posts so that they remain on the first page near the top attracting more and more attention until such time as the thread is so full of vitriol and venom that something which cannot be mentioned takes place.
Which makes me question their motives.
You may think I am being facetious - but watch! Watch, my friends, and be enlightened.

Quit posts were never against forum guidelines until they became a problem. Lets be honest about it, they made them against posting rules about a month after release when the exodus began.
That said, this IS Cryptic's forum and they have every right to manipulate it however they please. Moving/burying negative posts will be a full time job.

Huh? Yes they were. Well unless you count during Beta, where it technically wasn't possible to quit yet.
But it was put into policy during Champions before STO ever launched.
Well, you see... if you had a house-guest that everyday would jump on the sofa, start flipping channels on your TV while yelling at you that your house isn't clean, the food is not good, and everything else sucks, and then... they'd threaten to leave!!!!! And yet, remain seated to moan and complain, even though they told you in no uncertain terms that they were leaving... you know, you'd wanna kick'em out too... right?
While I did read your orginial "I Quit" post from the other thread. I am suprised it wasnt closed/deleted. Constructive critism, I can understand why a "I Quit" post wouldnt be closed immediately, your post was not constructive. It should have been closed/deleted, not just moved.

Quit posts were against the rules in Champions's forums. They're against the rules here.
I don't really think one can make a strong case that they were allowable back before the game existed, since you can't quit a game that doesn't exist.
I can tell you for sure that they were fine and dandy until one day the forums were flooded with them and then a sticky post followed explaining that they were against the rules and would no longer be allowed.
I can't say what went on on the Champions forum, thankfully I only made this mistake. But if it became a problem on two of their forums, then one can easily see how flawed this company and its products truly are.
It's all smoke and mirrors when you try to bury opinion anyway. The opinion is out there, and it is not favorable towards Cryptic in any way.

So, let me get this straight. You are not a paying customer, and you are complaining that they aren't listening to you?
I am a paying customer (albiet a very disappointed one) and they listen to me. They don't just listen, they ask questions, they talk about problems and solutions, they are fantastic communicators compared to any competitor.

The point I'm making is ... Champions' forums pre-date this game's forums. Unless you count Perpetual's involvement. Champions made the I Quit rule prior to this game being launched.
I quit threads in beta, or alpha, or prior to alpha, really don't do much. Since the game doesn't exist in a form that you can quit from.
So setting the timeline up in a proper linear point A to point B sequence, we get the path that this was against the forum posting rules from the very beginning. Because Cryptic had already dealt with this in Champions and already took action.
You may have noticed them being heavy handed about it and taking a lot of action about it at a specific time in this game's life post-launch.
But it was against the rules prior. Because it was against the rules in Champions, which launched prior to this game.
So, let me get this straight. You are not a paying customer, and you are complaining that they aren't listening to you?

Just to be clear, so YOU are saying that since he is not a paying customer nobody should listen to him? This attitude wont help them get new subs from demos/referrals for sure.
Well, you see... if you had a house-guest that everyday would jump on the sofa, start flipping channels on your TV while yelling at you that your house isn't clean, the food is not good, and everything else sucks, and then... they'd threaten to leave!!!!! Actually this is a reason why I remain good friends with a rural pig-farmer.
Just to be clear, so YOU are saying that since he is not a paying customer nobody should listen to him? This attitude wont help them get new subs from demos/referrals for sure.
I'm saying that their priority is to serve their customers. Cryptic reads every post they shut down, meaning that they DO listen.
People think that their comments are pure genius and get offended when others don't listen. Maybe it is just that they did not communicate these ideas within the bounds of Forum Policy. Have you ever shouted "Fire" in a crowded auditorium? No. Because there are rules and policies against that.
Do you work? Imagine a non-paying customer standing on your doorstep telling everyone who enters your company (employees, customers and prospects) how much they hate your product. What do you do?
And who cares about my attitude getting them new subs and referrals anyway? I'm an idiot customer of a product and company I'm not happy with. What do you want me to do, convince people to stay? If they had a product worth seliing no one would take my opinion as a green light, they would just buy it.
