I am still waiting for more content, better ships, and new very rare items....RA's are bored and dont tell me that they made new weapons because all of them have the exact same specs...they are not new...just different colors and sound effects...antiprotons are still the best....
Tired of waiting and PAYING....come on give me a NEW SHIP...not a new skin...and DONT make me pay extra for it...I already paid...see above....
Memory Alpha...anything...that will save this game....Updates never come when promised now...and they are losing their team....new galaxy...what...maybe in a month....new mission....it will be bugged...:(
If you ask me it's going toward what you're asking for but the next major update isn't until July I believe. That is when most of what you are talking about should be touched on.
Cryptic has stopped doing incrmental patches, and instead seems to be going for monthly ones. It's better, I'd say, as they can test the inter-co-operability of these patches thoroughly before release. Plus it's one time, not 10 or however many it is.

Antiproton are not the best - not in PvP or against certain enemies. Different gears works best in different situations.
While I agree that gear differentiation would go a long ways, I wouldn't go as far as to say gear is exactly the same. If, for example, a player Tetryon Weapons against Undine Ground forces - I'm liable to buttstroke them with a phaser rifle.
As for new content, a large portion of it is being saved till Season 2. The notable exceptions being STFs and unlockable accolades (some have content).
If you haven't tried the next STF (Terradome) it's up on Tribble (test server). It's a great mission - if only for the first time you attempt to spot the animation tell that gives away the real engineers.
I'd wait until July - unless the unlockable accolades and Memory Alpha revamp are enough to entice you.
In June, weekly episodic missions should start releasing (as opposed to lengthy STFs).
It's not an easy situation to be in for Cryptic. Do they hold content back and release a lot in the Season 2 update or do they continue to work on a lot for Season 2 and push out smaller bits between now and then? It's not fun to be so black and white about it but they are essentially holding all content back, bar an STF here and there, until Season 2 and as a result of that I and others will be holding back our subscription until then. I would very much like to play and keep my subscription current but I can't justify paying for something I'm barely touching due to boredom and bugs.
Before anyone jumps on that as an "I QUIT!" post, it isn't. I'm saying that this is what happens if you hold everything back and while I can appreciate their position, mine is such that I can't justify the expense. I will be back but if a lot of people end up doing similar it will hurt Cryptic.

It's a tough situation as a developer, I agree.
