First off, I want to say Jpem was my favorite Mission, It was bigger then most ground missions, there was random Vulcan Civilian NPC's around, Unfortunately we couldnt really Interact with them which was kind of disappointing.
But the Majority of Ground missions are DRY. There Small, Genertic looking buildings.
Wheres the Villiages ? Cities ? Like in STAR Trek we see on TV? With the Villiage People, Not the 2 people we have to talk to that are randomly around.
It feels like every ground mission we go to is a desert town. No one around, children running amok, random people walking about, doing there daily duties.
It would be nice if Cryptic could build on that. Take Mass Effect for example, When you go to the Cititdal theres people everywhere, And you could interact with most of them, sure they only say 2 or 3 pre programmed things, but still....its interaction.
And when you do missions to space stations, WHY Are they ALL The same ?!
They definitely do not have the space station feel to it.
The FIrst mission, the SS Azura, that was a great mission, the feel of it was excellent, Actually looked like you were on a station with lots of good detail.
I know this isn't what you meant the thread to be but I'm going to go with it cause it feels right to do so.
My one disappointment with the game right now (there are others but I'm going to go with one) is walking. Everyone running sprinting jumping everywhere.
I want to walk.
As it stands walking is not too much slower then the small jog. The jog looks more fluid then walking. Walking is very rigid and just seems out of place. If walking were slower, and I were able to keep my "thoughtful" pose as like when I stand still, but walking obviously, that'd be fraking sweet.
Not to worry, I was hoping this thread would be more like "Constructive Critisism" For Cryptic to ponder over and hopefully make some effort in integrate into there game.
And
Yo jerriko i will start walking to please you so i don't look like a monkey on drugs. This might make everyone a bit happier, maybe those who are running have no time? haha. anyway cya *does his impression of councillor troi's tiny macho walk*
I know you can walk. I just don't like the animation for it. A rigid penguin of sorts, heh. The jog and sprinting look very smooth, and likely because not many would walk, they probably just kinda "eh thats good" the walking animation.
Hey at least I'm not pointing out one of the many other disappointments (again) that are already around.

Just my 2 cents.
Ground combat sucks in this game. It's outdated and looks like it was from 2002
In keeping with the topic I'll go with something that I never like in games and this is probably one of the worst offenders. Why are all future people so unfit that they can only sprint for a few seconds at a time and then have to rest? These are supposed to be the best of the bunch, trained in both mental and physical disciplines yet they can't sprint for more than four seconds without a small break between the next sprint.
Why is it such a big deal to me? In games, if you're not actively doing something you're very likely travelling somewhere to do something. Travelling anywhere in this game is a chore at best with some ground missions that are outside where it is clear the placement of objectives has been made to take you as long as possible. You might find 4/5 objects you need to scan in a fairly obvious pattern, perhaps near on the path, then the last one will be way out at the end of the extended path instead of being at the fifth part of the path.
I've had space missions where 4/5 objectives (scan mission) where ahead of me but the last one was right back where I started. I know I didn't miss it at the start and things like that really frustrate me because these tiny differences don't make the mission different from the other hundreds of scan missions I've done before.
Getting off my point :P basically if we're going to be made to do lots of pointless running about I'd either like a faster base running speed or a longer duration sprint. Travelling is NOT fun, it's a necessity.
