You should use only the tier 5 hel. the other variants of hel are less helish. They do not give the true hel experience.

Of you mean like the ship types. like the cruisers vs escorts, or do you mean between them in the same class.

well if you mean the same class then pick which ever one you like best, or mix and match them. it doesn't matter because the stats are the same between the sub classes in the classes. so a Sovereign is the same as a noble. same goes for all other classes.

one in my sig is a ship list. you can look up the ships and see the difference between them.

Depends on your class and preference I imagine.

anyway dervish has more tactical slots, while Prometheus has more science.

depends if you like tactical or science abilities more... I am more of a science guy myself.

Wait, it's an escort right? It would be between another ENGI slot and another SCI slot. Not tactical?

    I thought?

My preference is Eng slots over Science since they tend to give you more personal defense which can help you in PVE. But two of my highest level characters are engineers. So that slants my opinion, since I play and build for engineering, even when I'm flying an escort or a science ship.

It really comes to play style more then anything. 1 extra teir 1 level skill, be it tac, sci, or eng, really isnt going to make a serious difference in any battle. We are after all talking about the weakest skills one can make use of.

The bigger difference is in the consoles, not the officer slots. For the fleet you can add in another EPS console, more hull armor, or improve your hull repair rate. Pure survival and defense here. and you get a larger crew complement to boot.

For the Advanced its more science. And that can mean you get more kick out of your science team skills, hazard emitters, or an additional second or two more on a sensor jamming attack.

Figure out the skills you use the most, and the ones you find you rely on the most to get you out of a tough fight. And that will decide the ship youll be most comfortable with in the end.

Or you can just forget all this and pick what you like for reasons as silly as looks. Like I did. I picked a fleet cause anything that ugly had to be able to fight. And that alone was worth some respect :D
