Demo to Game time card

I've played the demo for a few hours (I got a friend referral). I've just entered the code from a game time card. After I logged in, the game is still in demo mode!

I got an email with the following info:

Dear Matsuo-Lano,

This email is to confirm that you have activated:

* Star Trek Online Game Card 60 Days

Any suggestions?

you missed out the important bit. You have to actually buy the game and activate the retail key before you can add subscription time. Get your wallet out.

After I buy the game, I just enter my retail key and it's done?

    No further strings attached?

if you buy it from a direct download site you can get your key immediately upon payment. You don't have to download the game again from the place you bought it. Just activate the key from the main page and you will be good to go with 90days of game time.

But search around for the best price. Some places are still at full price, some are dirt cheap ( I can't give you links, we get banned for advertising )

yeah that's it. Unless you want more character slots where you have to buy them from the c-store. Or you want to play a Klingon on the Fed side where you have to buy it in the c-store. Or you want to play a Ferengi where you have to buy it in the c-store...You get my drift I'm sure :)

I also found some used games. My first guess is that they won't do me any good?

Not worth taking a chance. If they are offering to transfer the game account to you then it is against rules to transfer an account ( Or I would have sold mine in the 3rd week of launch )

A used game is likely to have already tied the retail key to an account and is of no use to you at all.

Days from your card wont be taken until after you buy the game, and are past the free 30 days that come with it. So wouldnt worry about that at least.

(I was starting to get a little worried)

Now it's just a matter of buying!

yeah as long as you remember to use the retail key and redeem it for this account you are using now then you just get the full game and a further 30 days added to your account. The only way you can lose that game card time would be to make a new account when you buy the game.
Just be sure to login to this account, go to the main page and click the 'redeem your key' graphic. This will take you to the page where you added your game card key and add it to this account.

We are not allowed to advertise links to the game anywhere but just for the record, a quick bit of searching I have found the game available, new sealed and delivered for $19.98 (I'm assuming you are American. )

Bought the game for 16 euros (I'm Dutch ;)) and activated the key. I now have until the 15th of August to play!
