Genious Solution To Please Most

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
I simply wanted to say that I find the new Difficulty settings with Death Penalty a genious way of implementing a penalty.

I've been busy with real life issues, going through a divorce (not a fun thing when You are not the party wanting it) so recently started playing a bit again after a little break.

If You want the challenge and risk of suffering it is also rewarded if successful and if You are fine with the normal relaxed pace and challenge You still dont suffer and at the same time have a little less reward or acctually same as before. No punishement and no extra reward.

Feels like a really genious solution to please most. The only ones it wouldn't please I guess are griefers that would want everyone that aren't as 733t as them to suffer, as 733t players considers everyone else to be n00bs that deserves punishment.

Tried all 3 settings. Oddly enough I find ground-combat easier on Elite than Space combat, but might have been because i played as Escort. Very squishy. Changed my ship at Commander Rank to Cruiser and find it's alot easier to go head to head vs. 3 enemies or Battleships.

Ground-combat is quite fun all of a sudden. Maybe I've just gotten better at using the different combands to make all BOF's to target the same target and do as I order and it's not as much chaos as it used to be. have found myself looking forward to ground-combat as well now and not just abort those exploration quests including ground-combat.

In all I feel STO is constantly developing and evolving to the better.

Still feel PvP is a bit unbalanced in favor of Klingons. In most MMO RPG's both sides have stealth/Ninja classes but in STO it's Fed's have NON and Klingons have them all. I usually like to play Burglar/Rogue/Assasin in MMO RPG's and sneak around and jump unsuspecting foes. Here I must do it as a Klingon but would like to do it for the feds. Well who knows maybe in the future we can steal some Romulan Cloaking device and set aside any agreement we have with others. It seems we are at war with everyone anyway.
:D

However it seems minor damages/injuries to the ship does NOT go away after 30 min. I find I have to pay to get rid of them. Been waiting aboard my ship in Space for 30+ min and still have the minor damage/injury on it. Maybe a bug that will be fixed.

Couldnt find any sub-forums to post this feedback in as suggested. Most Forums I looked at was for other stuff or not able to post in, so I post this feedback here instead.

We appreciate the feedback! Feel free to post on the individual Feedback subforums if you'd like to give feedback about specific portions of the game.

Feedback is extra-helpful if you can give an example of what you like or what you feel could be improved on, the reasons you feel it excels or falls short, and suggestions for improvements in the case of that which doesn't meet your expectations.

death penalty is great at the moment and is really forcing me to use more abilities on the ground and keep an eye on what im doing. i had realised that before it came I was actually playing on auto pilot and cruising through ground missions not even paying attention to what i was doing

space combat feels more like real space combat and much more epic. i do think space could be a touch harder as it just feels longer at the moment than actually being much harder

    yeah, gotta love those geniuoses.

I'd prefer my gaming made by a genius or many genii if you will ;)

Cryptic don't have the time and money to fix things twice. I'm pretty sure the things they implement after a community furore are your last, best hope. Like it or lump it.
