Sugegstion: Experimental Weapons

City of Heroes had a neat feature - temporary powers.

You got them from missions and they had a limited lifespan, sometimes hours, sometimes days, sometimes just a limited amount of ammo.

I'd like to see 'Experimental Weapons' either as mission rewards, craftable items, or purchasable from some sort of science department/store.

Ideally they'd be big damage/short effect with long cooldown type powers, but limited use cloaking devices, invulnerable shields, or any other sort of cool power would be fine. Weapons would be _less_ DPS than standard weapons of same gradde/quality but have really good alpha strike

E.G.

* Spinal Mount Beam - front weapon with tiny 15 degree arc but big damage and long cooldown
* Spinal Mount Cannon - front weapon with tiny 15 degree arc but big damage and long cooldown
* Super Heavy Torpedo Launcher - 45 degree arc that fires super heavy and super slow torpedos
* Transphasic Beam Array - ignores shields
* Q Shield - invulnerable shield
* Photonic Decoy Launcher - mine launcher that creates mirror images of the ship
* Experimental Cloaking Device - tactical console that allows up to 30 mins of cloak before it breaks down forever

    We already have exatly that, its called the "Tricobalt Mobile Device Launcher"
    Its slow, can be shot down and hase a base damage of 12k, easily bumped up to 20k with consoles and points into the Tricobalt skill, and on top of that its known to be able to hit well over 100k damage with critical hits which is enough to 1-shot any unshielded target, and finally once again on top of all that it has massive area damage so you could actually K.O three player ships or more in PvP with just one torpedo if they are close together enough.

    Haven't seen it yet so that's cool, but what about the other ideas? I remember tons of people used to collect the temp powers in CoH just fro bragging rights.
