Before YOU tread on this thread and/or it is deleted, please understand this is MY constructive feedback only and not a flame thread. This is the truth of the matter and it is long and serious.

This is notice that some poorly designed games, shall be a lesson to future game makers, that poor development and rushed development come with to high a price. It is called HUGE FAILURE.

1. Rushed game regardless of reasons (Cryptic and Atari)
2 Simplistic and boring game play (Cryptic)
3. Community is, to say the least, poor and mean (Cryptic community relations is horrible)
4. Continuously horrid and unbalanced PVP (Cryptic)
5. To many bugs and broken things still to date (Cryptic)
6. Instanced Massive multiplayer (really multiplayer only and once again Cryptic's engine fault)
7. NO crafting (Cryptic)
8. Playing your avatar/toon on the ground, is laughable at BEST (Cryptic)
9. Run and gun everything down, kill them all, attitude play style (Cryptic)
10 Difficulty Slider (what a jpke) (Cryptic)
11. Refer afriend program (Cryptic Bailing)
12. Lame attempt at a "advisory council" (Cryptic)
13. Sector Space Period (Weak Sauce on crack) (Cryptic/Atari)
14. One Race to actually play more then 90 days after launch.(Cryptic)
15. Promise's broken and living off the "IT IS COMING SOON" syndrome (Cryptic/Atari)
16. Complete disregard of what Star Trek stands for and why it is loved by so many. (Cryptic/Atari)
17. C-Store micro-transaction money grabbing junk (Cryptic/Atari)
18. Poor grouping and fleet mechanics. (Cryptic)
19. Endgame????? There is NONE (Cryptic)
20. Zero sense of "Going where no one has gone before"

This list of TWENTY serious reason this game has failed and dropped over 90% of the player base is clear. It was EASY to come up with these issues which are all valid. I am sure I messed a few.

I AM NOT WAITING TILL SOME PATCH OR PRAYING IT WILL GET BETTER. THIS IS SERIOUSLY A POOR GAME IN GENERAL and ACTUALLY HAS GOTTEN WORSE, WHILE CRYPTIC/ATARI ARE DOING DAMAGE CONTROL SINCE THE GAME LAUNCHED.

I have been on this forum since 2008, I beta tested this game and have played MMO's since Ultima Online.

If you believe or think this is a good game, then by all means play it.

The gaming community I belong to, is large and diversified and NO ONE in our community thinks this game even is remotely fun or worth playing.

CRYPTIC is the reason with a dash of Atari. Plain and simple.

Thanks for a horrible ride and the money grabbing feeling I am leaving with.

I stopped reading here, because of the fanbois. can you not post something without being insulting . it's really not constructive, and in turn it makes it look like your are trying to flame bait. sure your list maybe good, but you destroy it by putting fanboi in the first sentence.

cryptic/atari is losing it theres no denying it... its kinda sad seeing how the game progress, lot of changes but not that too significant... but it wasnt enough for the welcome back weekend...

i love star trek online i hope it improves more, before more customers/players quits...

Best thing Cryptic can do to save face and do damage control (and save this game) is to shut up (ie: tell marketing to go on furlough for 6 months) and spend every resource necessary to get Seasons 2 and 3 in the game ahead of schedule.

If they don't, it will be all over by the time TOR releases.

IMHO, the only way to be insulted by his post would be to consider oneself a "fanboi". I've read your posts, I definitely don't consider you a "fanboi". I am a fan of this game, else I'd not be here, else I'd not care enough to ask it be made better.

"Fanbois" are people who blindly, beyond all logic and reason, defend everything Cryptic does no matter what it is, and who relentlessly attack anyone who does take issue with even the tiniest thing they do. That doesn't sound like you.

Yes marketing (atari) is truly one of the largest problems. Good feedback right here.

    My opinion on your list.

    1. Rushed game regardless of reasons (Cryptic and Atari) - Their reason for it to be rushed is very valid so your list just dropped to 19

2 Simplistic and boring game play (Cryptic) - I can't argue about this, but I can see it getting better

    3. Community is, to say the least, poor and mean (Cryptic community relations is horrible) - Not associated to gameplay in anyway therefore is not a reason why the game fails. Your list is at 18 now.

    4. Continuously horrid and unbalanced PVP (Cryptic) - True

    5. To many bugs and broken things still to date (Cryptic) - I have only come across one bug in the past month, and there are a few things that are broken. Its spelled "too" not "to". List is down to 17.

    6. Instanced Massive multiplayer (really multiplayer only and once again Cryptic's engine fault) - It is a bit annoying

    7. NO crafting (Cryptic) - Simple crafting is a better choice of words. The new memory alpha update will prove to make this a bit better

    8. Playing your avatar/toon on the ground, is laughable at BEST (Cryptic) - Elaborate please.

    9. Run and gun everything down, kill them all, attitude play style (Cryptic) Could be changed. I think that is why they are coming out with the diplomatic corps.

10 Difficulty Slider (what a jpke) (Cryptic) - Why? I see nothing wrong with it. It delivers what it promises. List down to 16.

    11. Refer afriend program (Cryptic Bailing) - Common to many things, not just games. There is nothing wrong with it. Besides it doesn't affect the game in anyway. List down to 15.

    12. Lame attempt at a "advisory council" (Cryptic) - Yeah that is pretty useless, however this is fro Atari not Cryptic.

    13. Sector Space Period (Weak Sauce on crack) (Cryptic/Atari) - ???? You don't like the sector space? Personal opinion, but I understand.

    14. One Race to actually play more then 90 days after launch.(Cryptic) - please elaborate

    15. Promise's broken and living off the "IT IS COMING SOON" syndrome (Cryptic/Atari) - Please name one that happened recently. Around the release date there were a bunch, but now I don't think there have been any.

    16. Complete disregard of what star trek stands for and why it is loved by so many. (Ceyptic/Atari) - Complete? No. Some things. Yes.

    17. C-Store micro-transaction money grabbing junk (Cryptic/Atari) - They are a business, its their job to make money. Why would you expect anything else? LIst down to 14.

    18. Poor grouping and fleet mechanics. (Cryptic) - No argument here

    19. Endgame????? There is NONE (Cryptic) - There is, but it could be better. It is a new game you can't expect a complete endgame after 3 months of release. List down to 13.

    20. Zero sense of "Going where no one has gone before" - True

I managed to cut your list down to 13. I'd like you to elaborate on the ones I marked because I really don't know what you mean by those.

I'll even give an example. Call me Nostradamus!

Top 20 reasons why TOR is EPIC FAILSAUCE!

    1. Rushed game regardless of reasons (Bioshock really should have spent more time testing this game before launching)
2 Simplistic and boring game play (Bioshock's engine isn't anywhere near up to par for an MMO, even a game as old as World of Warcraft is better than it)
    3. Community is, to say the least, poor and mean (Bioshock community relations is horrible)
    4. Continuously horrid and unbalanced PVP (I've had more balance in Warsong Gulch)
    5. To many bugs and broken things still to date (I didn't pay Bioshock money to beta test their game)
    6. Instanced Massive multiplayer (really multiplayer only and once again Bioshock's fault)
    7. NO Smuggling (Bioshock has no regard for people who do not want to be sith or jedi)
    8. Playing your avatar/toon IN SPACE, was left out of the game (SRSLY ... why can't my dooder fly around in his space ship?)
    9. Run and gun everything down, kill them all, attitude play style (The Sith aren't sinister enough. Where's my master planning ability? I want to scheme! And build a death star! Instead it's all kill, kill, kill. All the time.)
10 Too many cutscenes (what a jpke)
    11. All my friends have left the game, and it's a ghost town (Bioshock bailing)
    12. Lame attempt at a "jedi council" (Bioshock)
    13. Force lightning. Period. (Weak Sauce on crack) (Bioshocki)
    14. No Pod Races to actually play more then 90 days after launch.(Lucasfilm)
    15. Promise's broken and living off the "IT IS COMING SOON" syndrome (Bioshocki)
    16. Complete disregard of what Star Wars, the Jedi, and the force stand for and why it is loved by so many. (Bioshock)
    17. Money grabbing junk (Lucasi)
    18. Poor grouping mechanics. (Bioshock)
    19. Endgame????? There is NONE (Bioshock)
    20. Zero sense of "A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far Far Away"

That should just about do it for TOR.

What's on the horizon after that?

Well - first let me put on my flame-proof undies......then.......

I have read through this little things like "90% of the people are leaving"

Perhaps true - and this quantification comes from where? Seriously - where did you come up with 90%?

"1/4 of the people deem it a failure" -- Again - Where are these metrics coming from?

This is not trolling for fire here - seriously - post up where you are getting this. If you can show me some valid data on it - I would like to see it.

the 90% gets said a lot but it comes from the announced million forum accounts between CO and STO that turned into the announced over 100'000 subs. The two figures have nothing to do with each other but people incorrectly assume STO has lost 900'000 people.

List is down to 17. Make sure you typo police me and I stopped reporting bugs last month as I was doing it more then playing. The list is long, to long for here

    7. NO crafting (Cryptic) - Simple crafting is a better choice of words. The new memory alpha update will prove to make this a bit better Another PROMISE, its well past a full quarter, this should have been in during beta and on into release.

    8. Playing your avatar/toon on the ground, is laughable at BEST (Cryptic) - Elaborate please. They added your beloved difficulty slider. Good games do not need a difficulty slider.

    9. Run and gun everything down, kill them all, attitude play style (Cryptic) Could be changed. I think that is why they are coming out with the diplomatic corps.

    14. One Race to actually play more then 90 days after launch.(Cryptic) - please elaborate Klingons, very lacking still.

    15. Promise's broken and living off the "IT IS COMING SOON" syndrome (Cryptic/Atari) - Please name one that happened recently. Around the release date there were a bunch, but now I don't think there have been any. Crafting still missing, klingons very weak overall in depth and game play, it's coming soon is not what keeps me suncribing with hopes and promises.

    16. Complete disregard of what star trek stands for and why it is loved by so many. (Ceyptic/Atari) - Complete? No. Some things. Yes. throwing in well known Star Trek places and names with sub-par text is not submerssion, and no sense of real depth at all in ANY stories written

    17. C-Store micro-transaction money grabbing junk (Cryptic/Atari) - They are a business, its their job to make money. Why would you expect anything else? LIst down to 14. Once again "make money" hence "money grab" The game SMELLS OF IT

    18. Poor grouping and fleet mechanics. (Cryptic) - No argument here

    19. Endgame????? There is NONE (Cryptic) - There is, but it could be better. It is a new game you can't expect a complete endgame after 3 months of release. List down to 13. I will give yopu this one as it does take time

    20. Zero sense of "Going where no one has gone before" - True

I managed to cut your list down to 13. I'd like you to elaborate on the ones I marked because I really don't know what you mean by those.

    there ya go....

What's on the horizon after that?

why can't people just pick 1 universe and stick to it =/ a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away, or 400 years in the future.... =/ they don't even exist in the same galaxy let alone the same time zone Dx

This is notice that some poorly designed games, shall be a lesson to future game makers, that poor development and rushed development come with to high a price. It is called HUGE FAILURE.

Thanks for a horrible ride and the money grabbing feeling I am leaving with.

let me help you after this much editing : the word you need to edit is CONSTRUCTIVE..
