One of my referrals is like that too. No idea why.
Update: From my findings, it looks like a bug. If it's not, then it's just one of those things where there is sometimes a delay before it properly updates. I've filed a bug and sent it to the web team.

This could explain why I am not getting the tribble or warp to button even though my referred friend has bought the game. It has the email for the buddy name instead of the global name. So instead of the referral system looking for my buddy's global it is looking for a global that is identical to his email.

After looking at your account information, I can see that you encountered a different bug.
Currently, if you attempt to apply a referral key to your own account, it will give you an error message saying you cannot recruit your self. However, once you attempt to apply that key to an actual referral, it will appear to be successful, but your accounts will not be linked. This is due to the fact referral keys "break" if you try and apply them to your own account. This is one of the bugs that came up this weekend that we are trying to get fixed ASAP.
I'm having this problem too - but it now says "Offer Cancelled" even though the key used allowed my friend to get access to the Demo, using the newly registered account, and adding the retail key + subscription plan. Her 'recruitment' and my Invitation Status doesn't seem to have been linked...and now for some reason, it's 'Cancelled'? Hope it's sorted out soon.
I have several referral emails that never changed to account name and they are definitely not my own account. Granted, I haven't had the same issues as others with the referral not showing as upgraded... knock on wood and thank god.
