It is likely that the activation page did not load during your account creation or client boot up. You can manually activate your account for the demo at http://www.startrekonline.com/user/free_demo_start/Cryptic After that you should be able to login, patch, and play.
This worked for me as well. My only suggestion is to post this on your demo page, as others are certain to have this problem. . .
That would definitely be a step in the right direction but I'd guess that it won't happen until tomorrow at the earliest due to the weekend. That's my best guess why it hasn't already been updated since I'm sure support has received at least one ticket about the issue.

Thank you so much for this, works fine now really aprreciate that but I think Cryptic need to sort this out cause honestly not many people are going to keep trying, before they walk away and say TRIBBLE it.
Same problem for me too. Link fixed. Couldnt find any reference to this on the cryptic site, even the forum search didnt pull anything meaningful - google did the trick though.

Stacking Demo keys and buddy keys on the same account does not work. The restricted play time is for you to test the game to base an opinion on it. If you would like to continue to play please get a retail key and set up a subscription.
