I returned to find the game slightly different than when I left...

I'm not sure what to think about the difficulty slider. I will have to investigate it further. But I am absolutely thrilled - thrilled - that there is a sort-by-price option in the Exchange. Kudos to he who implemented it, that person deserves a special bonus.
The new Nimbus class is the best looking of the DSRVs. Kudos to that as well.

I was disappointed to find that nothing had changed regarding the ships getting stuck in objects (including other ships) as well as the fact that science ships get no love when engaged in support for fleet operations. I have a half dozen escorts pinging me for "heals plz" which I'm only too happy to give, but, come on...I don't get any loot!

I'm not sure if the graphics have undergone a major redo but the game looks marvelous. I upgraded from my ATI 3870x2 to a ATI 5770, so that may be part of it, but the first time I beamed down to a planet I was amazed at the improved detail. Well done for that - either to Cryptic or ATI, whomever actually delivered the improvements.

The best thing so far seems to be that EPS consoles are no longer the only item you need in your engineering slots! I did a dozen space encounters last night and didn't run short of power even once - even without the EPS console installed. Hoorah!

That being said, however, the changes to VM and SNB are devastating. I used to use SNB then fire the VM but you can't do that anymore...Sci-Team shuts down SNB and then immunes the target to VM. What a disappointment! And Eng-Team and Sci-Team are all still on the same cool down...its just too much.

I haven't played against any Klingons yet but I'm fairly certain they're even MORE over-powered now than before. I played my Klingon LTCmdr last night and fought through two dozen space encounters and my shields didn't drop more than 50% and my hull never dropped below 77%. And now there's nothing at all a Fed can throw at the Klingons to slow them down. This is such a pity!

I will try the Outreach development tonight and see how that goes...and does anyone else have the problem of your ship's scanner shooting out the side of your ship instead of the front? Or is this maybe a Nimbus-only problem?

I have a Nimbus myself and am quite proud of it, and can safely say that I don't know what issue you are talking about.
That being said, welcome back to the game! Be sure to check out the last few Engineering Reports because they do touch upon some of the stuff you mentioned, and then some.

Klingons are not over-powered, imo. You just need to find a build that exploits common KDF weaknesses (and hope no one counters that build).

Yeah...I had that...now...not so much. SNB + VM and that stopped them shooting at me long enough to get some damage on them. Then they'd attack as I went running for my life. Now I don't know what to do...fortunately I'm good at running away...

that scanner bug was introduced with one of the last patches... hope it will be gone soon again

also that the view after warping into a system allways shows to *north* instead of staying behind the ship

full Space Auto Fire is now FINALLY avaible :)

The autofire was a neat surprise too, I found it by accident. Beam overload doesn't seem to work as well though now. And I'm not sure if its new, but I've noticed it more, that enemies are able to shoot at me from a lot farther away than 10km. I went up against a Negh'Var last night and as I was fighting it a second Negh'Var came out of nowhere and started hitting me. I ran away - because I am good at running away - and they were shooting at me even 15km out! I hate glitches, they are so unpredictable. :(
