Has it been confirmed that this ship has a cloaking device?
Is there a link on the site?

    Thank you.
As a Klingon player i'd hate to see any Starfleet ship with a cloak.
    But.......who listens to Klingon players.
    Certainly nobody at Cryptic. :(

Wah ! Wah!! Just because they dont wait on call 24 hours a day to address your personal whims
doesnt mean they dont listen. Klingons already kick the living TRIBBLE out of federation players at endgame,
plus the Future Enterprise did have a cloak. I for one support the new Galaxy class, but I dont know
if I will ever get one due to the steep referral amounts for them.

What difference does it make if its merely a non-combat cloak like Stahl said though?

So just so iam clear about this, it will have a non combat cloak. which means, as long as your not hit with a phaser, torpedo or any sort of attack, or be brought into a combat "red alert" mode you can turn your cloak on and off at will. So technically can be used in pvp, and anything else....am i right in that?

It's merely a rumor, as Stahl said. But yeah, that's what it sounds like to me.

I prefer to wait for the clarification rather then speculate, especially when the person making the comment uses the words "rumor" and "may have" in the same sentence.

Based on the recent Engineering Report it will probably be in Tribble testing very shortly, if not already there.

Edit: Seems that 1.2 is going into Tribble testing on the 17th. I assume Galaxy X will probably go into testing at that time too.

So Sorry.... Federation posession of Cloaking Technolofy is "Star Trek Canon", although rare they posessed it. Afraid that you might enjoy the "sneak up from behind and get blasted by that new gun ?????

If it has cloal I WILL HAVE ONE.

And yet, I haven't seen, heard, or found any information as to if it will be an Assault Variant, Star Variant, it's own class, how many weapon slots, BO slots, etc. Anyone?

Hmm I can see a PvP strategy already...

    1st: Cloak
    2nd: find an enemy
    3rd: get behind an asteroid
4th: line up shot with special canon through asteroid (out of line of site).
    5th: fire cannon
6th: before they can figure out where the shot came from or get around the asteroid to attack you, re-cloak (This is of course once you exit combat. Preferably, keep the asteroid between you and your opponent by moving if you are still in combat)

Now imagine a full team of these, constantly attacking you from behind asteroids and then re-cloaking before you can counter-attack by gaining line of sight. Man I love this ship already.
    Thank you.

Notice Klingons should be able to get these ships too.

Going by the email Atari sent out for the welcome back weekend, the Galaxy X will have a cloaking device and the phaser cannon. I don't think Atari would send out an email encouraging people with those promises if it wasn't true.

I so can't wait for the referral program and the Galaxy-X refit. Now all I need to do is find someone who is considering buying this great game.
