do we know how much of a percentage of the ship class skills that we get at RA5? is it worth maxing them all out for the extra turn rate and such or would it be much better to spend those points on other skills?
It's 25% of T2 - T4 skills applied to your T5 skill. That said, you'd need firm numbers as to what the skill does with so many skill points invested to determine if 25% of that is worth carrying forward. Between that and the diminishing returns on the higher skill point investments I settled on 7 as a decent point to set them. One of the things I want to do at some point is copy to test and do some respeccing to see if there's a decent break-even point.
I don't think there's a simple answer to this. It really depends on the type of ship and scale of your BOs and how you use them. For example, Cruisers are probably going to want a higher Ship Skill then Escorts, but then even your play-style in a Cruiser might be less about moving and more about buffing/shielding.
Why not read the skills themselves? They DO state how much of a percentage is given to the ships above. If I recall, it was 25%. It's still worth it since it keeps you alive longer.
