Just wondering if there are any peeps out there who have been toying with the idea of playing Star Trek Online, if your seriously considering giving it a go, please send me a private message and i'll happily send you one of the few remaining "Refer A Friend" invites I have left.
Of course, there is no obligation to get a subscription, but I would prefer to refer only those who are genuinely wanting to try before they buy.
If interested please send me a private message with your email address so i can send you the invite.
Anyone who can post on the forum to answer you already has an account - and so are not valid. Giving your referrals away willy-nilly will probably mean they end up in the hands of Gold Spammers.

Ppl buy new accounts all the time and all he needs is 5 ppl out of a community of tens of thousands, thats entirely doable.

LMAO. We all need to create one of these threads.
So, if you PM Brodie and he is out, you can always PM me. But if I get you a key make sure you create a new account. Adding the key to your existing account will do nothing for you, or me.

Thought you can have a forum account and not have an active game account.
If you cant then yeah, your right, this would be a waste of time.
As for Gold Spammers, I think it wont effect them as (and im not 100% on this) your Refer a Friend invite only gives access to the demo which has severe restrictions in place to counter them.
woah so only the 5 invites count towards the X? so if 4 sign up for a month and the 5th doesnt, you'rd out of luck? Makes it only ppl who buy 5 accounts themselves will get it.

That cant be right, can it?
That is exactly right. There have to be five people buy a retail copy of the game and then when they all subscribe for a minimum of 1 month you get your toy.

No, it's not "exactly right." You only get to send out a max of 5 at at time. Not you only get 5 period.
Yeah ive sent 2 invites out to genuine friends and family who i know are interested, but apart from them I know of no one who would want to play any MMO. So I thought instead of my three remaining invites sitting there going to waste id offer them up to anyone wanting to try it before they buy it..................of course IF i get a nice holo bridge officer out of it too i wouldnt complain .
Buy seriously, my offer is genuine, i'll take advantage of the "warp to friend" and damage bonus stuff you get from playing with your RAF buddy for the first 15 days and help you out if its wanted. Of course if you prefer to fly solo and learn the intricacies of STO at your own pace thats fine too, but i'll be a tell away if you need advice.

Not sure we are reading the same thing. He asked if five invites counted towards the reward and if only 4 sign up for an extra month then and the fifth does not then there is no toy. In my book that's exactly right.
There was no mention of 'can i then keep referring people until I get a fifth'
And frankly id you are not ashamed to have your friends spend the money then good luck finding five because every geek who ever cared is likely to have been through these doors and those who don't care for ST don't deserve to be fooled into thinking this is worth the money.
That's not refer a friend, it's treat your friends badly for your own selfish greed.

What he was asking was if only 4 of his 5 accept does that mean I can't ever get the toy. No. It doesn't mean that. You get as many Invites as you want. You are simply limited to sending out a maximum of 5 at one time. If 4 of those people accepted he now has 4 additional Invites available to him to use ando try and get that 5th spot - and after 14 days the unaccepted Invite also reverts back to him to use on someone else. Invites never end. They last forever.

it may be what you think he meant. It was not what he said. I answered the question.

Cosmic is right on this one. He was asking if only 4 our of of the 5 people you invite accepted the invites and bought the game then you'll never get another change at the Galaxy X.

Then he should have written that as opposed to what was written which says something different.

There are two components of any written message: exactly what was written and the intended message. Rarely do the two components coincide with each other.
Cosmic_One and I knew what he meant, but you are right, it's not what he said.
I was going to tell you what you posted was not what he meant, but Cosmic_One beat me to it.
Each time an invite is accepted it resets back to you so you can make another. If the invite is not accepted it resets after 14 days.
So you say if I invited a friend with a buddy key in, lets say, late March. And that friend used the key, then bought the game and still plays... I should have a new key to give away now? Because, I tried 2 days ago, and it said I can not have a key because I already used one.

The Buddy/RAF was recently changed with Buddy being a different program. Go on the main website and click on the Refer A Friend link. Then go to the bottom and check out the FAQ. You'll also see that the Referral Program is now a section under your Account as well.
Ive gotten a couple of emails from people asking for referral codes, they seem like nice people too, this is encouraging.
I've have no hopes of getting the Enterprise X, and tbh im not bothered either, never really liked it, thought that 3rd nacelle looked awful.
But im pleased that im helping people try the game before they slash out their hard earned cash on it.
Some kind soul a while back answered a plee of mine for a promotional shuttle code, I feel like im passing on the good deed.

As I said, if you get requests faster than you are able to hand out codes I can hand out codes too if people want them. They have to message me though. I'm not going to actively solicit people to try the game.
Heh, I can see the in-game gold spammers changing their macros, offering to become referrals!
"STO-REFERRAL.COM is offering to be your friend! Only $9.99! Sign up now and we will be your RAF... sign up 5 times and get your Galaxy-X"
... That's bloody brilliant. Massively inethical (the spammers have apparently taken to purchasing the game retail with stolen CC numbers, and they're found out well before two months are up) but bloody brilliant.
Brody, I sent a PM. Don't know if you have any left... but played the demo but way pretty dissatisfied with the limited game experience... they only give you one mission to do. I'm probably going to purchase, just want to help someone out with their referrals if at all possible.
