"Our sincerest thanks to players who have invested their time with us! We'd like to send some goodies your way. The more you play Star Trek Online, the more we'll give you. Skill point bonuses, titles, costume pieces, character slots ... Veterans will be rewarded every 100 days! Rewards are retroactive, too! First rewards will be available late May."

Really?... I mean freeking really? Now your bribing people to stick around " Just a little longer " to get a few crappy, usless gifts like the shakka emote. Please fix your game, make it better... like a good little spungbob computer company.

Thank You :D

You do realize that most MMOs have a Vet Reward program, right? I currently subscribe to 7 MMOs and they all give something to the players based solely on how long they have been subscribing.

I don't respond to bribery and I don't respond to threats, but combine the two and I'm your man.

"Continue your sub and we will send you these goodies every 100 days. Cancel and we will send you neekid pictures of Rosie O'Donnell forever"

Seriously, most MMO's have vet. programs....and the ones that don't (LotRO springs to mind), they are constantly asked for.

Even in non-MMO's, customer loyalty programs happen a lot....buy 9 coffees and get the 10th free, renew your lease with us and rent will stay the same, even though the unit you are in is actually 100 bucks more a month than when you signed your lease, discount cards at stores.......typical modern business wanting to retain customers.

Im not sure i like the marketing ploy of buying in to Beta for STO via the 6 mo or Lifetime sub for Champions on-line.. That they did to rush launch.. Rewards or incentives are what they are.. I dont want a cart before a horse.. I'll wait for content as long as i know whats promised in the here and now works as adverted.. Simple considered logic,

Of all the MMOs I've played, STO seems to have the most people concerned with the look and feel of their characters/ships/avatars and the world at large. It's also (outside of maybe Star Wars) perhaps the most well-developed and diverse IP that has an MMO about it. (Even LOTRO has some IP limitations--STO's limitations are on style, not on quantity of quality content that writers can generate!)

Veteran rewards that give "fluff" (costumes, ship skins, emotes) seem to be perfect for this MMO. I feel as though many, many people who play this game enjoy the "fluff" more than the game itself. Even my young cousin who never watched an episode of Star Trek in his life has become a subscriber. He's loved the customization, the look and feel of ships and uniforms, and often trades things that work the best for things that look the best (and are still good).

We both play other games where looks matter little and "feel" is for people who want to lose the game, but in this game, veteran rewards are content.

I'm deeply looking forward to each new content update, but I'm not going to lie and say I'm not also looking forward to more cruiser skins, uniform updates, and playable Tamarian race!

    /gg :-D

I am trying to get the reference here... but I just have no idea what you're talking about.

As was said earlier, Veteran Rewards are nothing new to a MMO, so I see no issue with them being here.

We cant enjoy what we have if they rush ahead to something new before the existing thing works first.

The creativity and nice people Cryptic are in place .

They are making good things happen .. but like the Shake down cruise of any warship.. problems occur.

Simple tweaks fix most things others take a step back and re eval before proceeding to the next phase.

Im pleased and saddened by my Open Beta experience here and the Demo Process.

Corrupted Files poor Download server support hurt Open Beta access A Dev Phase where they knew full well how many people were coming.

Demo same server issue but without a firm number of know people coming.. harder to pre plan.

    I just wish them well.
