Stop moving threads out of the discussion area to forum graveyards where you may find it useful to read things but we stop posting because nobody visits there.

Did it ever occur to you that the reason we are having these developing conversations is simply discussion. Discussion with each other in the discussion forum? Just because a thread develops into what you consider good feedback about either the game or the community does not give you the right to kill it dead by shifting it to a dead forum. Sometimes we don't intend to give you feedback. Sometimes we just want to have a discussion with our peers about STO, you know? In the discussion forum.

just because you consider it feedback does not mean we had any intention of giving you feedback and if it happens as a side-effect of conversation then surely it is for you to do the extra work and look for it rather than for us to be flitting around forums we don't wish to visit to continue our conversations?

Are we going to have to preface all our new topics with "Discussion! NOT intended as game or community feedback" just to have a chat with other people here?

    Hi Zoot!

In truth, all threads on the forum are "feedback'" - even a player asking another player for help with installing the game is feedback that the game is difficult to install for that particular individual.

However, our goal is to promote topic-oriented discussion. I would like to encourage you to shift your focus to promoting discussion in those sub-forums. I'm sorry you feel they are dead - but instead of putting all discussions in the general forums, let's try and fix that.

And our goal in posting this 'feedback' is to get some non-vauge comments from the Cryptic team on what they're intending to do about these issues. When will we be seeing that occur on all the threads being moved out of the spotlight of General Discussion?

I understand why you are doing it. I truly do. I used to run ( as European Administrator ) a huge gaming community for a software developer.

However you are still fragmenting the discussion. many forum users like to remain in one place as I'm sure your demographics show you.
It's simply not convenient for me to flip from forum to forum in order to continue conversations just because it's convenient for one GM to collate data from the forum he's been allocated.

Sure, I understand it but I would ask you just to be more considerate to long conversations that whilst they may offer you feedback, they are offering us discussion in the area intended for it.

I understand it's a new policy, I'm asking that you are less aggressive.

Very soon! While I will say that we've seen a lot of good posts from key developers like DStahl, we're [always] trying our best to streamline this process and increase the depth and frequency of updates that you guys are receiving.

This kind of reminds me of what happened to "Fleet Actions".... only this time, its intentional. What happens if you segregate and fragment the community too much, to the point that people just stop coming here?

Not saying this WILL happen, but foresight... ya know?

And by the way Destra. Thanks for sending me an uninformed PM earlier today. I sent you a response, and would really appreciate it, if you took the time to actually look into the issue more carefully and responded in a more specific and informed manner.

don't do mod decisions by PM. As Phoxe went to pains to tell me twice, it is not policy ( not that this policy is written anywhere ) to discuss decisions by PM and the only recourse to complain about a moderation decision is to email the very team you are complaining about.

We haven't seen anything except "TRIBBLE you, we're not changing our mind one iota" on the core issue of the unbalanced alpha class Galaxy X "reward".

Can you link to the "TRIBBLE you" quote please? I'd be interested in reading that. And in knowing who at Cryptic said that.

I feel if the discussion is lively enough it will continue. No matter what forum it's moved to.

Actually Phoxe is known for shutting down threads that are negative about the game.

Because they want to make criticism as invisible as they can without resorting to mass bans and suffering "Cryptic are forum TRIBBLE" backlash.

It's the same thing. By moving posts WAYYY down here they are essentially demoting them and making them harder to find.

That's not an exact quote, but the sentiment.

One of the Cryptic Devs claimed to have spoken personally to our ex-SOE executive CEO who says there will be no change to the RAF program or in how the Galaxy X class is bought.

Which means that complaints about this have already fallen on deaf ears.

I would suggest a facebook page where you can start a group based on whatever. Just make it an STO fan page and start some discussions. That way the mod hammer won't fall. Muhahahahahahahahaha. Powah to dah peeeples. :D

Then how about getting a serious adressal of the referral program in general, and the Galaxy refit problems and issues before you guys head out for the weekend, and go see Iron Man 2? It's been a week already.

Why anyone thinks a T5 Cruiser with a centerline weapon is going to be overpowered is beyond me. I pretty much have assumed all along that it will be a nifty-to-those-who-care ship type but possibly a little /underpowered/ due to being less customizable than normal. Non-battle cloak would be nifty but really, no big deal.
