There are lots of negative posts on these forums, some justified, some not.
I say put that aside and lets give the team a small pat on the back and bolster our beloved game by voting for it in the 2 categories its been nominated for in this years Golden Joystick Awards: "Online Game of The Year" and "Ultimate Game of The Year".

Here is the link: http://www.goldenjoystick.com/

It only takes a few seconds to do and you dont need to register in order to vote.

There is no force on this Earth that would convince me to do such a thing.

I've had my invite to vote ( I once bought a table at the awards as a group I was involved in were up for one so I get my invites every year ) and I purposefully avoided mentioning it here.

The two? Three lists that STO is in ( and it's only the long list ) already have far, far superior titles in them that will beat this hands down. Even if you get the 100 players on the forums voting.

Fallen Earth and the LotRO expansion were the only ones in the Online Games Category that I thought could compete. I hated AION and thought Allrods is an expensive item mall. Say what you want about STO, but it's better than Global Agenda in my opinion. Now that's a content-lite game when it launched.

To be honest, I could not vote. ( I like STO ) but putting that down would be a lie. ( sorry cryptic, but it is true, it's not up there yet )

    LOTR will spank that category.

    Yeah it will.

I fact the hardest choice for me in any of the categories was to choose between Fallen Earth and LOTRO:SoM.

Maybe. I didn't find the expansion pack compelling compared to LOTRO's other offerings. However, it showed a lot of polish.

I nearly voted for Fallen Earth. I loved that they made an indie, post-apocalyptic MMO (and a FPS/RPG).

You're right though - the offerings weren't amazing this year.

I'm a bit torn actually....LotRO is and has been a great game for almost 3 years for me. This game, despite some glaring flaws, is very enjoyable. Every few weeks I see Cryptic adding content in nice sized chunks. Just seems unfair that it get's all the "worst game ever" talk... so I am debating on doing the opposite to skew the results in favor of STO, even though (for me) LotRO is the superior game, more polished, very deep, etc.

I've got a lifetime sub in both STO and LOTRO, the SoM Expansion was in my opinion, pretty naff, but your right i do think it is STO's main competition.
