Wrath of Khan Uniforms - INCOMPLETE

Any chance of getting these uniforms reworked as the TOS uniforms did?

Few things I've noticed.
  • No option for changing the Rank Insignia, it's always Captain.
  • Missing Rank Insignia on sleeve.
  • No option for Pips & Sqeaks on sleeve band (mostly just for flavor, could have several years of service configuration options)
  • Textures seems rather bland (looks fake-ish compared to other STO uniforms)
EDIT: This goes for the Pants (tucked in boots version) as well. Plus the color options for the Pants (tucked in) & Boots are not dark enough.
  • Rank Insignia and Belt Buckle should not be color linked.
  • Rank Insignia should not be only one flat color (they were silver & gold).
  • Will need Flag rank stripes if Rank insignia are made changeable (good pictures / info here)
  • EDIT: The non tucked in pants (example) called Cutoffs in STO do not allow you to color the side stripe, as they only have one color option.
The Combadge itself confuses me, every closeup or illustration I can find looks like this. That color scheme is totally not possible in STO. Notably the Blue part, and the Bronze Arrowhead (can pick bronze, but looks bright colored). I can't find a good closeup of someone in the movie wearing one, they definitely look different from far away. The best one I can find is here, you can definitely see some blue if you zoom in.

Anyone else notice anything I missed about this uniform?

ATTENTION Flamers / Trolls: Please remember that the Art/Graphics people at Cryptic that would work on this are exactly that, people who only work on Art & Graphics. Not the people responsible for enhancing Klingon gameplay etc.

It would also be nice to have that "flap" for the jacket to be in closed or open position.

The black for the trousers could be darker also, right now it's more of a charcoal grey.

Not only is the Wrath of Khan uniform the most stylish and best looking uniform Starfleet has ever made.. but it's darn iconic, too. I agree with all of these suggestions, the in-game uniform needs some improvement. The textures themselves could use a once over; and the charcoal colored pants need to be a true black when that color is selected, not a dark gray. But I'm just repeating what's already been said.

Being able to choose between open flap and closed flap would be Epic on the Epic Scale, and I'd love to see that feature!

I approve, all around. I hope some or ideally all of these suggestions are used!

We're supposed to have the Open Flap. They were looking into the issue as to why we weren't seeing them on the tailor. The art is done for it.

Y'all are talking about the puffy tucked in boots version of the pants right? I went ahead an added that to my list. This also reminded me that the Cutoff (non tucked in version) pants currently in STO do not have the option to color the leg side stripes.

Speaking of those puffy tucked in pants, I don't remember actually seeing anyone in the Movie's wearing those with the uniform jackets. Where did they come from?

Maybe Valeris? Kim Cattrall likes puffy outfits.

speaking of wrath of khan things that need fixing, the khaaan emote is still just a generic scream.

    YES!!!
Give us the open/closed flap option plx.
[and maybe an unlockable open version with the bloody handprint as well!]

Would be interesting if they could make graphical overrides to your current weapon... just a cosmetic change.

We should get them as soon as they fix the bug. Hadn't though about requesting the bloody one though.

I haven't seen any players wearing the jacket with the flap open, but I have seen NPCs with the open flap at the Captain's Table.

I agree with this post. I don't use the ST:WOK uniform for the above reasons.

[*]No option for changing the Rank Insignia, it's always Captain.
    [*]Missing Rank Insignia on sleeve.

These were advertised as the WoK Admiral's uniform, but the artist clearly used reference for Kirk's uniform from the later films, after he was demoted to captain. The sleeves were probably an oversight. The in-game uniform was never supposed to have customisable rank markings, though I agree that it should, both shoulder and sleeve.
[*]No option for Pips & Sqeaks on sleeve band (mostly just for flavor, could have several years of service configuration options)

Would probably require an extra option slot in the creator, but it might be possible to include them as part of the rank markings. Maybe two versions of each rank, with and without, if that is possible.
[*]Textures seems rather bland (looks fake-ish compared to other STO uniforms)
EDIT: This goes for the Pants (tucked in boots version) as well. Plus the color options for the Pants (tucked in) & Boots are not dark enough.

The STO Cryptic designed costumes are somewhat overtextured, in my view. The WoK textures are appropriate to the source, except for still being a bit too bright ('black' is still charcoal grey).
[*]Rank Insignia and Belt Buckle should not be color linked.

If the rank markings were independently selectable as with the other uniforms, they wouldn't be. Because they are a fixed part of the jacket, it is limited to a maximum of four selectable colours. Since you must have Maroon, Black, and department colour for three of them, the buckle and ranks were linked.
[*]Rank Insignia should not be only one flat color (they were silver & gold).

If the separated the rank markings, they could make it a two colour tint.
[*]Will need Flag rank stripes if Rank insignia are made changeable (good pictures / info here)

Agreed, but they would probably have to make a separate Admiral's jacket, because the admirals also had gold piping (here) as well as the black of the regular uniform (though as the fourth colour it would have to be linked to the belt buckle).
The non tucked in pants (example) called Cutoffs in STO do not allow you to color the side stripe, as they only have one color option.
    [/LIST]

The movies didn't use cutoffs, they were all tucked in. Pictures that look like they could be cutoffs are simply tuck-ins where the puffy bit has wilted.

You can get close enough I feel with gold/bronze/white/grey, although I am generally not too keen on the overly saturated gold/bronze colours available for communicators/badges.

After the very good job the artists did for the revised STO miniskirts, it would be nice if they revisited the WoK uniforms and made them a full costume option (selectable ranks and so forth), rather than the partial one we have at the moment.

I agree with all above. these are a VERY iconic uniforms, with LOT'S of little bits all over the uniform. Really, they are quite complicated what with all the rank insignia, starfleet insignia (with four colors alone!) belts & buckles, stripes, flaps, piping, collar colors, and even the squeeks and pips on the cuffs! Wheew! Lot's going on with these uniforms! Not to mention the optional skirt and then the away team jacket! Yes, a re-visit of these uniforms are in order, but what we have so far, is not bad. I look forward to any re-work comes to this uniform and I vote for it too!

And yes, I would love to see TWOK style MKII Phasers and even those hideious clunky communicators! (probably the ONLY thing they messed up in TWOK!)

Here are quite a few pics I found on them:

Someone posted a picture of a player in spacedock at the tailor with the open one a few weeks ago. No, it did not have the bloody hand print. :)

Well, if we're talking about making the TWoK Admiral uniforms complete and accurate...
    • The trapezoidal belt loop on the back is missing (should be the same colour as the jacket)
    • The two black front belt loops are missing
    • The front flap, as mentioned previously, should have gold braid along the lower side of the black piping on the front of the jacket
    • The leg stripe should have gold braid in the center, running the length of the trousers
    • The shoulder strap should have gold braid along all but the front edge (whether it's an Admiral's uniform or not)

I'm sure other things will come to me. I was actually thinking about this a week or two ago.

Aside from that, I'm not sure if this is my settings or if everyone sees it, too: The department colour undertunic, shoulder strap and left sleeve stripe all are fuzzy at the edges. It looks like they're made of really fluffy wool or something.

And dear god, yes! TWoK phasers to go with the uniform! I'd love to see that. It's my favourite phaser design.
