I apologize I did not know you wanted the entire list of things you should "constructively" change.
- C-Store - First on my list because I think it is a complete crock, and overall a scam that you mae your players pay for in-gme items AND have a subscription as well. Pick one.
- All axis flight - I don't feel very powerful when my ship is power sliding on your invisible walls. It's a game breaker in my opinion, we've all seen ships in the series do y-axis loops and so on, no reason it should not have been in the game.
- Poor 3D Models - Your 3D modelers are not very impressive. Sure the game looks "eh not to shabby" when you zoom all the way out, however once you zoom into see this 'awesome' ship of yours you see a lot of bad angles, things that should be circular are actually octagonal. I know it's done for latency and low poly counts, but look at EVE, the game is beautiful and they handle it fine. No reason why STO should not be comparable to a 5+ year old game in my opinion and STO doesn't even compare to touch EVE.
- Poor Textures - A lot of the same here, overall just pretty poorly designed. In one example on a planet I can not remember, you needed a volcano, and instead of creating lava, you decided to make two models of the mountain, shrink one and place it inside the other, and then simply give the outside one a dirt texture and then paint opacity over the top of that model so that you could see the model inside which had a lava texture. The problem with doing that is you lava can only flow one way. So your lava flows straight down while the "lava" path curves and such on it's way down your volcano. Just pretty poor overall as I said. Things like ship lights are painted instead of being actual volumetric lights and it looks shotty. The windows on the ships are actually just bent 2d planes where you've painted in oval shapes and sat them off the model a few feet so you can see in between the windows and the ship.
- Extremely Simple - There really is no sincere pve here, it just really seems pretty meh. Go kill another alien. Go collect me this. Your game needs more in your face action sequences, real time decisions that actually have some bearing that makes you different from everybody else who has done the same quests.
- Very repetitive - much like the last question it just seems extremely repetitive in all aspects of this game.
- PvP - there is currently no reason to PvP at all. You can not effect the physical territory during this "war". If anything they are scheduled p***ing matches where feds and klings get to show how much their tac ship is loaded. You have no ranking system, so I win all my matches and this guy wins one in five and we are still equals on the field, no we are not. Probably the most game changing thing you could have in a game IS pvp, and like I mentioned earlier this doesn't feel like a full on war. I think you need to have a zone that is a sandbox, call it the neutral zone and let everyone have at it. Place stations in the neutral zone which can not be taken by one player or even 20 players and have sort of a capture the zone. Maybe you have 3 or four of these in between their respective sides and allow players to fight for systems, fight for stations etc. But for all that to happen you have to make it worth it, currently planets mean nothing. Stations mean nothing. You should give each of them respectively a fleet bonus, capture this planet from the Klingon and your ships move a little faster because of the research station on the planet. PvP NEEDS to have a LIVE and dangerous impact on the game. period. I'm sick to death of everyone simply throwing in battlefields and calling it good. That's not creative and ultimately becomes boring.
- PvP ground - much like the last, this just happens way too fast, it feel likes nothing is balanced in my opinion.
- Texture and Model glitches - I have two max level characters. They both have top end armor and weapons. Neither characters weapons or armor are wearable without interfering with other models such as my chest. and I am male. Hair, should not penetrate your armor either while we are at it.
- Memory Alpha LOL - I am trying to be constructive with this one, but I honestly think you should just blow this planet up and think of something new. Like adding a set of neutral "citizens" who can specialize in everything industrial or research. While you are at it you can add kling and fed research classes as well. Guilds could build realtime mines on planets, research facilities all to increase their citizens and soldiers technology. Neutral parties could sell for profit, you could add in a very large place for profit within the industry by incorporating the ferengi with this neutral set. bottom line is, you need to expand on industry within the galaxy. How many times did one of the engineers say they "upgraded" this part on the ship which made them go faster or what have you. Currently every ship has the same parts, the same this the same that. Get rid of memory alpha and add a lot more immersion to the research and industry world.
- Lack of immersion - Like the one above no immersion. I don't feel like this is star trek. I don't see any new ships docking at DS9 DAILY, or any at all to be specific. Quite frankly there are no ship at any stations save the players. I mean honestly come on, you can do better.
- How many planets does this have? 30? How many different planets did the enterprise visit in it's 7x30 plus episodes? It feel like you have 30 planets and they are all the same. This needs to change.
- Locations look the same - every fed station is exactly the same. much is the case with a lot of locations. change this!
- What's the point of races? - Honestly races means nothing. There is no distinguishable difference save a extremely minor stat point here or there.
- Overall design failures - Gameplay design like making me spam spacebar to fire all my weapons. Whose idea was that?!?!?!?!?!?! who sat down in a room and thought, THIS IS A GOOD IDEA! They will love this! Honestly I'm sorry but fire that guy, gameplay should be fun not tiring.
- No distinction between classes - No matter what class you are, you can use the same weapons, the same armor and you pretty much look like everybody else. Change this. No reason a sci off, should be using a heavy weapon etc etc.....
- Factions - TWOOOOOOO!?!?!??!?!?! Seriously? Think of how far you could have taken this at launch!!!!! Think of where players have been. They've been in fed ships and kling ships in the series. Where haven't they been? hmmmmm. Maybe like Cardassian ships, Romulan ships, Jem'Hadar ships need I go on here? So much lore and conflict has been a huge let down because it doesn't feel diverse enough.
- Planets are 100'x100' - incredibly boring and thoughtless design failure here. Yea you added more to planets like risa but you added no reason to explore risa. there is no reason to explore any planet, no hidden riches, no hidden technology to find, nothing. No point in have planets at all in this game. You have an incredibly rich lore with tons of unique architecture and culture and an incredibly lack luster game that has implemented absolutely none of that lore.
- There is no danger. - It doesn't matter what you are doing, everything just feels like oh no big deal. I don't think in both my admirals that I have died yet, outside of pvp. really?
Alright there is probably more and I've tried to be constructive, I really have. I have strong doubts however that any of my suggestions will be taken seriously and or implemented. So I put out a challenge, prove me wrong, and I will gladly re-sub. Until then farewell to what could have been an awesome mmo.....

lol
yes, lets see, first post was "i quit me and my friends are sad"
course like all liars - back to post some more...
then -(i skipped that page of compalint- rsther read ...anything else? (kids complaining is boring- men complaining about -a game -is obscene) - then this final line. lol
strong doubts that developers will rush to implement ideas of one guy on a message board that quit? lol
I had to comment on this one. Since the beginning of the year, I've watched the entire TNG and DS9 DVD sets, and have just started on Voyager. The answer to your question on how many places the Enterprise visited? About 3, with different levels of fog and/or slightly different lighting or angles. Seriously, it's kind of embarrassing how the same couple of locations pop up throughout the series. I swear, if I see the matte painting of Angel One one more time...
Quoted for much epic truth.
readability. try it. because your post has none.
I think you are trying to call me a hypocrite for making another post. Well my good friend if you read the first one you would see that the dev wanted more information as in constructive criticism. I have indulged him. Ergo the second post, seeing as he locked the first. Connect the dots.
Besides the fact that everything I wrote is a valid point that CANNOT be disputed at all, by anyone, I gave them a list of things it would take for me to return to this game. What is an mmo with no players? A ten year old 3rd person shooter, and a flight simulator.
granted. however still different in each of their own ways. ffs this game doesn't even have fog, nor lighting. everything that is supposed to be a light is actually just a jpg.
So, what should they have done instead of using a jpg?
You can't reproduce real fog or lighting in programming alone. The best you'll get is what it is "suppose" to be. You won't have an increased chance of getting cancer and your body won't produce vitamin D from computer generated "light". Hopefully, this isn't what you meant, but I really see no other way you can look at it.
lol
crticising my writing? lol
i like the CAPS for empahsis- you like shouting your "undisputed" facts? lol
worst writer ever- like 1938 propaganda writing from a brat
but why i am i responding - these are valid points that CANNOT be disputed. lol
little kid points for little kids
You can turn on auto-fire by right clicking on the weapon in question. Be sure to set your auto-fire options in the controls section of the options screen.
You can increase difficulty in the options screen, or in the missions screen. It could use a bit more work, and there are a couple of bugs, but it is on the right track.
Good feedback, I agree with much of it in some way or another.
well as someone who has played tons of mmos, and likes to think I have a good sense of what akes them great, I would hope so (haha).
I thank you and I will work on my harsh tone. No point arguing with people with tunnel vision.
they are called particle effects. EVE uses them all the time along with volumetric lighting. and EVE is 5+ years old.
As an example, go out to Gamma Orianis, and look at the Mutara Nebula. Also, check out the Briar Patch mission.
The engine can do these, so they can be applied to add atmosphere to STO.
