STO: A look back at the last three months

Found an article that gives a good look back at the last three months. ( good read for anyone who didn't witness it first hand, or if you want to get another prospective. )

"One of the earliest things that fans complained about, though, was Cryptic falling short of its attention to detail of Star Trek ideology and gameplay themes. Many players felt that STO was too combat-oriented, claiming the developers failed to draw upon some of the more thought-provoking aspects of the original franchise, like diplomacy and exploration." I never seen an "article" from a site purporting to be even semi respectable that has contained so much unadulterated bovine waste. I'd just gotten through the first page and a half and already spotted three out and out lies being attributed to Zinc (whether or not Zinc did actually say these things I don't know, but if he did, what a bold faced liar).

By your opinion maybe, but what each person gets out of it is different, and no one have the end all opinion.

Edit* and you still haven't answered my question. What gives you the right to try and ruin the game for the people who like it?

EDIT AGAIN* like normal he can't answer it, because he has no honest reason to ruin the fun of people enjoy the game. Well I'm out to play for tonight. peace.

It would be real interesting to know just how much Cryptic paid for this silliness to be put out.

The kind of sad part is that they apparently actually believe that anyone that keeps even a distant eye on mmos, or is in their right mind, will believe most of it, and believe this is a credible article. The depths to which Cryptic is sinking to try and pull the wool over any unsuspecting mmo gamers that haven't already heard what a waste of money STO is is getting to be amazing.

The whole "Klingon PvP-only" issue (players weren't happy that the Klingon faction was originally PvP-oriented) is another example of something the developers anticipated prior to launch, but weren't able to begin addressing until later. Today, Cryptic has made good on that promise, adding more Klingon PvE content and addressing several other aspects of non-Federation gameplay that fans have requested. The Klingon faction still isn't a fully-fledged PvE group, up to par with the Federation, but the developers have come a long way in these past three months to deliver what fans are asking for.

So were is this pve content ?

Exploration clusters. That's really what one of the core parts of this game is supposed to be, I think. Running exploration clusters. And I think the core idea is now for that to be largely the heart of all new factions' PvE content, aside from STFs and a few major episode chains that each faction will get.

I think in many ways, your enjoyment of the game will depend upon how much you enjoy exploration clusters and Cryptic's longterm approach for the game will depend on how much they improve and expand the options for exploration clusters.

This is the only thing I see thats sad.

You think the article that shows nothing but STO's flaws is creditable and this article that Zodi shows us as rubish.

Scolding seems to be a skill you should put on a resume.

I thought Aion was a terrible clone of what WoW is, I played for 15 minutes and quit. Wasted $50, but did I go onto the forums and flame the game? Nope, I just moved on. I think your aggression comes from a poor decision on your part and purchase game time blindly, only to use it to flame.

Honestly, I don't know what to tell you. Obviously you havent found a game that you like, since you have nothing but time to spend here and on the web bashing this game. Just be sure to tell everyone, not only how you hate the game, but how you threw away money blindly.

Interesting article. Certianly true from that side of the fences point of view. Cryptic better not mess up the diplomacy side of the game.

there is nothing wrong with that article

he has over exaggerated the klingon pve, because whilst its there its not that much. season 2 should help to go along way to helping the klinks out

as for the rest it sounds accurate. it has a more positive tone than most but it personal opinion. it matches my views on the game

Don't have time to read the article but it's a theme that when people see a review that bashes everything they assume it's credible, just because nobody would pay for a bashing review.
