you don't expect this when wandering around space.

but seriously. We need more ships per level. More choices. More, much more.

What say you? And what ships would you like to fly? ( don't talk about that lumbering galaxy-X ;)) as I might take some time to make some models for a bit of fun.

I've only got 2 32" screens. Not enough space to draw it ;)

    Nice picture!

Excelsior, Ambassador, Constellation, Nebula, and New Orleans are on my short list...

I think they should add functionality to the aesthetics of ships. As it stands the ship customization is kind of pointless, aside from giving you frankenstein or hotrod ships.

They could immediately increase the amount of different ship types by 3 times if they made each of the variants have their own stats. Additionally, ships should have long term viability. As it stands, we have a "Star Trek" universe where nearly everyone is an admiral, and most people play one of 3 ship types (T4s).

IMO I would like to see Science Ships with an extra dish get to equip a second deflector (with diminishing returns of course), ships with more than 2 nacelles can equip another impulse engine (with diminishing returns), and something for cruisers (I got no idea). But yeah... we need some more ships badly... not just reskins, but new ships with special bonuses...

Supposedly each class of ship and the parts were going to have differences, but it got changed due to the possibility of whining about being forced to take a part that was 'ugly' to get the stat you wanted. Heard that back in CB, but never saw it confirmed by a Dev.

One of the things that Cryptic does well is letting you have the appearance you want, and not making you choose to look like some sort of mismatched, dressed-yourself-in-the-dark hobo to get the stats you need. Taking that away would be stupid.

id love to fly a Kelvin-type or JJ enterprise...or just stick with my Galaxy class after the ship model has been vastly improved.

And that's why everyone is in the same ship no matter how it looks, instead of having parts that had different stats. 8'(

I have decided that this weekend I will make a USS Kelvin model. It's already been done ( probably much better than I will ) by Tobias Richter ( if you don't know hi, you should ) but it will be nice to mock-up some screenshots with the Kelvin in them.

I would love to fly a 1-nacelle cruiser. The few I've seen looked really sweet

I know during the DS9 battles (in the later part of the war)there were these little fighters that could zip along quite fast. They were part of a squadron of some sort. The show never went into great explanation about them. Would be nice to have one of those. They couldn't be as powerful as the other 3 ship types, but maybe be really hard to hit. Don't think anyone has mentioned them yet on the forums, but I always thought they were kind of neat, though weak in the shield area.
