It's hard to believe that someone that doesnt want it has made so many threads about it just curious what is your obsession with everything in the cstore?
I am still flying around in a T2 ship because its the one I want. I simply enjoy all the entertainment that these threads provide
As a dev pointed out, you'd still get it free if you recruited 5 people legitimately. Putting it on the C-Store just discourages people buying multiple accounts rather than getting new players into the game legitimately.
I say put everything that was an exclusive or bonus on the C-Store, get all the outrage out of the community at once and get people focused back on in-game mechanics and in-game rewards rather than treasuring or coveting things obtained out of game.

No even those that bought 5 copies of the game and subbed them for a month thats around 225 dollars unless they put it on the cstore for that they lose money plus since they haven't put a deadline on the raf it is still available to anyone who wants it
and anyone who believes nagus just does this for fun I'll sell you a bridge real cheap
As much as I'd love to be able to buy a Galaxy-X from the C-Store, I think it should remain available only through the referral program. This is mainly due to the fact that I don't want to see a half dozen of them everytime I leave Spacedock. They should be a rarity, & they will certainly lose their cache if everyone has one.
I guess some people got used to Mom & Dad buying them everything they ever asked for. Spoiled, anyone?
The folks at Cryptic know what they're doing, let's let them do it.
Perhaps you are not aware of this, but virtually every improvement that has been made to this game has been in direct response to player feedback. If people just sat back and let Cryptic do their thing we wouldnt have any PvE for Klingons, no end game content, crafting would never be improved, all missions would be combat based, we wouldnt have ship interiors in the works or minigames. The list goes on and on forever. It is GOOD thing that people are telling Cryptic what they want.

Hardly spoiled, if it is the C-Store, and being paid for, then they had to work for the money to pay for it. The only reason I think it should be in the C-Store is if they have mulytiple methods of obtaining such items it provides the most options for the most people. Some will buy it, others will get it from getting referals.
As far as not wanting to see them, I sort of agree with you there, but only because about the only ship uglier than the Galaxy is the Galaxy X. I certainly could do without that eyesore.
Most people have to work for money, and money is how you buy the items in the C-store.

Do you seriously believe they released this game 'as is' without any thought for the future? Admittedly, they are very responsive to the customers, & I applaud them for it, but I'd be willing to bet that a lot of your enumerations were already in the works before any of us ever mentioned them.

It's one thing to take advice here and there it's quite another to give into whine posts constantly. If they do it once in a while it's not that bad but all it does is create more threads I want this on the cstore etc. Within one day of the exclusives being added to the cstore there were already posts asking for other things to be put in the ctore and even one wanting the stuff free through the game. Listening to players is one thing but giving in to whining is another in the original threadnaught on this subject several people posted they had just bought whatever version to get the exclusive they wanted. So cryptic could have potentially made more money by keeping them exclusive. Instead they gave in which has now sent forth the message If we cry we will get what we want and we can laugh at all the suckers who took cryptic at their word. Sad really

Exactly. It's what I meant when I said "spoiled," earlier. Thank you, dojen, for your clarity of thought.
As an aside, I actually want Cryptic to make as much money as possible off of all of us, as that's what will keep the game solvent.

Considering the fact that it will be over 5 months after launch when Klingons get their first episodes, I somehow doubt they were already "in the works" before people complained about Klingons not having PvE. Considering that it will also be over 5 months after launch when we get the diplomacy system, I somehow doubt it was already "in the works" before anyone ever mentioned it. Things Cryptic probably DID have planned post launch were STFs as end game content. They difficulty slider is also something that Cryptic themselves claim was in direct response to community request.

Oh, yeah, I acknowledge that this community has huge influence with the devs, & it's one of the things I love about this game. It's just that, from everything I understand, STO was launched as a work in progress (moreso than most other MMOs), so I'm figuring there was a lot that was already 'on the board,' as it were, & that they planned on adjusting priorities according to player responses/requests.
Just my two cents, though, which is about all it's worth, considering how much I DON'T know about software development & writing code, etc.
STO is also my first MMO, which may or may not be noteworthy. Lovin' every minute of it, though!

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I agree with you completely, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity for the joke when I saw it :P

From the amount of threads created and the amount of gimmees, I would say keeping it in the C-Store would be the smartest thing they could do.
If they do this then no one will trust any further referral incentives and just wait them out.

Cryptic has already released items to the C-Store that were part of their "exclusive" pre-orders or special orders.
Nothing is sacred so everything should be in the C-Store.

Sometimes the best things in life are the things you have to work for.
