I received my Mentor title and badge today.

I answered my 100Th question in game today and received the highly coveted, Mentor title and insignia. no I did not tell anyone that Sulu could be found at star base 114 or that Mk X weapons can be used at any rank.

Now would be a great time to get your Mentor title. Seeing as how the free weekend is coming up. We can help some new players and gain some cachet in the mean time.

OK, you got me. This was a proposal. I thought it would be far more effective than saying "I have an idea" the thing is, I don't care about a new title or badge. What I would really like to see are new players and a strong player base.

I want this new promotion to succeed and no I am not a big fan of Cryptic. I am a Star Trek fan. At this point STO is all we have.

So go out there and welcome and help new players.

As far as my deception to my fellow STO'ers, I hope you understand.

That's not the way to make a suggestion because people don't realize that its a suggestion. I understand your point of view, but perhaps what you could have done was use the thread title you have but in the body say something like "Now that I have your attention here is my idea..." then a short description of your idea and people would probably be more interested.

Good point Attillo. So if you agree with me, let's see how you would have done it. 1...2...3 GO!

I'm not a troll Huntman. I was just trying to think of a unique way to say something. After all it got your attention didn't it.

It got my attention but it was misleading as well, you could have kept the title but then in your OP explain your idea.

I am not trying to start an argument with you but. Have you never heard of a parable, like in the bible. Parables are much more effective then, standing up on a big rock and saying " I have an idea."

The funny thing is, is that there are now two parables here. One of doing something good and one of being greedy.

what's with the current fad of stating ideas as if they're already in the game?

to the OP, it's not even remotely original and the attention it garners is usually in the negative.

I think the idea is daft, answer questions because you want to answer questions not because you want to spam for a title, they got rid of post counts on here because of that TRIBBLE. Also how would this be setup? if it's automatic it's very open to abuse, if it requires GMs thats time that can be spent much better elsewhere.

That is exactly what I am talking about. Postres were interested when there was a "reward" The true message is, if you like this game and want it to succeed, do the right thing, with no thought of reward.
