Why did Cryptic go with five referrals for the fancy premium-grade bonuses?
Wouldn't it have made more sense to go with four? That way a player and their four referred buddies could run STFs together without anyone feeling left out.

5 is high enough that it will discourage most fans from trying to buy additional copies of the game themselves to get the AGT Enterprise. The whole point of the RAF system is to get permanent subscribers not people only willing to play for a single month. 4 does make game-sense but my understanding is that some aspects of team limit size is going to be changed in the future.

Friends forever and all that.
Probably has something to do with them giving out Holographic Bridge Officers for the other four you recruit.

Though it wont stop some determined fans from doing exactly that.

I doubt there is any significance to the number.
