The same as it ever has been since not long after this forum came up. Whether it be when I foolishly used to defend Cryptic back when they actually made a few good decisions about the game, or now after I long since saw how badly they were messing up with the rest of the game, and for what they are. Every few weeks a new pack of little mutts start nipping at my heels because their debate of the message shows itself to be extremely weak. Desperation born out of coming from a weak position leaves them attacking the messenger.
It did get a bit boring awhile back, but now it's livened up again because it's become rather amusing.
Amusing because of the one unavoidable truth. If you people were so confident in the points I read you make when defending this game, you wouldn't be here making those points. You'd be playing the game confident that there's enough there, that what's there is fun for most people, and that the game being fun is all that really matters in terms of it's sustainability and growth.
You'd not be concerned or bothered by what I have to say, nor what anyone else had to say. You'd not be concerned because if there's one common thing about every game, regardless of genre, it's that if it's good it's good, and any noise from critics will be pretty much completely drowned out by the positive word of mouth that just naturally happens outside of any forums and such.
I know that when I'm having fun in a game I very very rarely even look at it's related forums except to try and give/get game specific info. (i.e. builds, mission guides, etc etc), and occasionally request a feature (if a mechanism isn't in-game to do that specific thing). The same holds true for pretty much every other person I've ever played along side of in the 10+ years I've been playing mmos. If the game is truly fun and engaging, we're playing it. We're playing the TRIBBLE out of it. Not yammering on the forums frothing at the mouth whilst launching personal attacks against people that have negative things to say about it in a very lame attempt to discredit what they're saying.
Or in short form, and paraphrasing the words offered to us by a great mind from the past.... methinks thou doth protest too much.
... and you deserve yet another LOL too, just because I can't stop.
LOL, I have not played in a while and I assumed from the title that Hagon was the name of some new content that everyone was freaking out about and I came here to read about it.
Boy do I feel silly.
(I guess I'm the one guy who has no idea who the heck you are Hagon)
He doesnt care if he posts a link of a competitior of another website, trying to spread discontent of this game. Such a shame he is bent on the destruction of STO.
were not haters. we are telling the truth. you are out to ruin this game. some of us like the game. sure it is not finished and needs a lot of work, but we still like the game.
So let me ask you an honest question.
What gives you the right to try and ruin other people's fun?
some of us have fun, and yet you try to ruin it. What gives you the Right?
Can you answer that honestly, because I don't think you can.
Sweet, when did you come back Hagon? I thought you left to pursue other games.
I was off whilst I moved our family to another province, and waited to take possession of our new house. I've not had much time to find another game to get into yet, but BoK is going strong in two or three other games still.

Could you tell us what game so we can come to its forums and trash it?

No, you're not. I have been playing since Feb. Apparently, I'm too new to know who the heck Hagon is also. Never heard of him or the thread he is referring to...

As a relative newbie, I am firmly on your side.
I like this game. While it does leave a lot to be desired, I believe it has potential. Since we just lost a Developer, I hope the hire a new one who can make it better.

man sorry you been getting bashed so much haggon....i hope you stick around you been with us well before the game even launched......shoot alot of us where on the forums from a year before the game even launched!
I like this game. While it does leave a lot to be desired, I believe it has potential. Since we just lost a Developer, I hope the hire a new one who can make it better.
Since you are new. I welcome you.
also while I like the game, I see that it still has a lot of work.
Hagon on the other hand see that it is his duty to scare away new people like you. that is why he posts all over the internet about it, and for some reason he hates the game, and wants to see it fail. ( there are a few of them around here. )
in other words, he thinks he has the right to try and ruin our fun with this game.
my question is why gives him the right to do that? ( I have not gotten a straight answer. )
No, we don't dictate what games people play, and there are some lifetimers that are still trying to get what they feel is at least some of their monies worth out of it, but it's only a tiny handful out of the 400 + we had on our site roster around release time.
As a rationally thinking individual of many years on this Earth, people like Hagon don't influence me much at all.
I tend to figure things out for myself. I have done so for over 40 years.
So let him continue to spew hate. Who cares? Who is he to me? Nothing.
I'll form my own opinions thank you very much. My current opinion of STO is neutral.
I love the idea of feeling like I am really in the Star Trek world. I really enjoyed all of the single player play and limited group missions up to RA5. I am severely disappointed that there isn't much to do once you reach RA5. I hope they fix this. Or many people like me will become bored and drop their subs.
It isn't that the game is bad necessarily; but if you keep doing the same things all of the time, you eventually become bored and move on. It is human nature.
So, I hope it succeeds. Long live Star Trek, Long Live the Federation.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it isn't him (got that picture a couple years back from perusing the Eve forums); that's why I said it's not an actual picture of him. I put the 'as far as I know' in the unlikely chance it is him.

I'm sorry - I can't trake ANYONE who considers Sony Online Entertainment as the pinicle of MMO developers and who further sees The Star Wars Galaxies 'Combat Upgrade' and 'New Game Enhancements' as:
Hagon: "....changes that needed to be made, it was just that they pulled the trigger on them too late."
As someone who has intimate first hand knowledge of how SOE manages and patches games (EQ Human Monk from 1999 - 2003 until I just couldn't take the SOE Dev team's practice of claiming on thing, yet patching in something completely different - to the point that I will never pay for anything done by SOE again.)
As for my SWG experience - I am a huge space based sciene fiction fan and was hoping that SWG would be my MMO of chioce. Then I entered teh SWG beta starting is phase 2 - and was greeted by a Dev Team that was EVEN WORSE than the group running EQ. You know it's bad in a closed beta when the standard Dev response to aplayer feedback thread is: "It's clear the playerbase doesn't understand or know how to use the mechanic in question. It's working as intended, and once the game releases, we're sure you'll see things diffrently.")
So, again, sorry - you've just lost all credibilty with regards to ANYTHING you have to comment on regarding MMOs in my book.
SOE and the SWG CU and NGE changes needed/good for that game....talk about LOL!

Surely everyone must know of the great Hagon.
