Patching after a long Pause

Hello everyone.
I had a longer pause in STO an now I'm back. The problem now is the patching. The poor STO laucher tries his best, but the missing data of 2254MB seems to be to much for him. My downloadspeed is around 40 KB/s. This cant be true! It's my horror, I'l have to wait 'till next week, ..if I'm lucky.

I've tried everything I know: Reseting the PC (I know it's stupid, but it works sometimes). Turning the FIrewall off, Portforwarding, even it shouldn't be necesarry, but the downloadspeed won't emprove.

The next thing, that come into my mind is to download the patch from otherwise. Thinking about a torrent hash. But where do I know which Pach do I need? Where can i find out what my current gameversion is? Does anyone have any idea?

as far as im aware there are no patches you can download manualy, the only way to patch ST:O is through the launcher

if your finding patching is going slowly try from the launcher click opions and select a proxy (EU?) then click to tick update via proxy

Used the proxy and it was'nt faster at all. At the end, it downloaded only a couple of days. Yay, DSL FTW...

For what do we have a broadband connetcion, if there is a bottleneck somewhere in the sharing of the patches? If something need to be fixed, than this dear Dev's!

The whole patching thing is awfull. Is there no possibility to release the patches before, share them with ease and then activate the Patch in the server? It would be so much easiser for everyone.

By the way, that stupid downloading cost me 2 whole days not playing, but paying. Of course I can't expect to get a compenation. No, of course not, and that's why this patching setup suks!

If you weren't playing, how would releasing the patches ahead of time help anything? The diff from one version to the next is usually pretty small, but they add up over time. No real way around that other than magic.
