would like to see a pvp ready check system

The only real big prob i see with the curent pvp system is there is no ready check system that insures all players are ready for match. the prob with it now is 10 player (5v5) match for example, on one side you can have all 5 players join and on the other side only one or to make it in match mostly cause players go afk or miss the engage window from being in custom ship and char windows.

if there could be a check system when a match is ready to double check players before the match starts that would be helpful and make the matches fun and fair. when players do not ready up it can remove them from that current que and move up the next qued player.

Yeah lets waste the time of the devs on a whole bunch of new safety-mechanics (how about a ready check for the ready check, just to make sure?) to make really really really ... really sure that some idiot that queued up also actually joins what he queued up for.

Don't get me wrong, your idea propably is a good one, the need of stuff like that though shows how much of a damn TRIBBLE the average mmo players must be.

Or... if someone queues up for a match and the match launches, chuck 'em in automatically. No waiting around for someone to click a button (what the hell is 'Snooze', anyway). Ready or not, you're ENGAGED!

Hey, it works for Deep Space Encounters. :p

Well, technically it does replace absent players right now, up to 2 minutes in. For example, if my 5-man premade queues, and I miss the popup, 4/5 spawn in, and after the countdown goes down for me, another 5th player pops in to replace me.

As for the "dribbling in" effect where 1 shows up, then 2, then 1, then 1, you could just add a match start protection to give you time to group up. As in a 5-10s "spawn cloak" that lets you get to where you need to be, and it goes away the moment you use any weapon or ability, or when the counter goes down. Then you get time to regroup at least.

No, that would be bad for most players. What if I'm in a mission while waiting for PvP, and about to kill the last guy for completion, and then I get kicked out into PvP? I now have to restart the mission from scratch next time.

Or, folks could be finishing skilling/training/auctioning/crafting and need to quickly finish something before clicking Engage.

Maybe instead, make the option be "You're in this match at the end of the 60s, unless you click Leave before it hits 0s" by default, instead of "click Engage within 60s or you missed the boat". Then for the cases above, they can just hit "leave" and just re-queue for the next go around when they finish what they need to do if they can't do it in 60s.

Simple: don't queue up until and unless you are ready to engage in PVP. If you've got something else going on, you're not ready for PVP. Once you click to join that queue, it's not just YOU anymore. It's you and everyone else in that queue. Don't waste their time because you weren't really ready to participate.

That assumes the queue is ready when I'm ready or within a reasonable time. I can click queue, and sit there waiting for 15 minutes for the popup window depending on the night, the tier, the faction, etc. I was ready when I clicked the button, but then I decided to do something while I waited because it took so long, and now maybe I want to finish that activity because the queue took so long. You make it sound like players are being greedy or something, but it may just be that the queues are so slow players got engaged in something else in the meantime and that's why they skipped out.

If the queue takes forever to appear, sometimes players will start other things while they wait. Such as a B'Tran daily explore mission. If I'm close to finishing that to complete my daily, I may want to at least get that out of the way now instead, because I got tired of waiting on the PvP popup, and I don't want to have to restart the last mission next time.

Why penalize players for the queue being so slow? I think the "you're in by default in 60s unless you click Leave" method is fairer, vs "You're in by default instantly".

In all the years I've PvP'd in Guild Wars random arenas, I can count the number of times I ended up on short-handed teams on one hand. So it is possible. Let's start with having would-be players in a waiting room, queued for ONE type of match.

And there should only be 2 types: random space and random ground.

People leaving after the match starts is a different problem.
