This Just In Gozer Leaving Cryptic How Will this Effect The Game.

so if you don't know it yet Gozer is leaving Cryptic.

to some of us this is a shock, but what is even more shocking is what's going to happen to the content in the game after he is gone.

to people, me included, Gozer's work was some of the best, and I know there are other members on the content team who have just as much talent, but the question is.

will this seriously effect the way the game is going to grow?

added to that, who is going to replace him? will this person be up to his level?

these are all hard questions.

but first lets remember Gozer.

STOKED INTERVEIW WITH GOZER

he made content that some of us like, and some of us didn't. he would hang around the forums on his days off, and read about what we were posting. He will be missed.

WE WILL MISS YOU

I report it ,and you debate it.

yes we do, so we can debate in here, while we respect gozer's goodbye thread.

so what do you think will happen to STO because of this?

he was too rigid with his ideas of how STF's should work and wasn't willing to change them much to meet players feedback.

here's hoping the next schm- I mean guy in line is more flexibl/reasonable.

    I'm honestly worried.

Which episodes were Gozer's work, anyway? I have a vague impression of 'the good ones', but I'd like to verify that before commenting more thoroughly.

The STF's besides this latest one are his work if I am not mistaken, Khitommer Accords weren't his doing but the other ones are.

I believe city on edge was also his, but I'm not sure. the STO interview talks about it.

I have to agree with that assessment of his STFs, tho.

Is this topic even necessary? It's just asking for unnecessary drama. Gozer was nice enough to say bye because the community means a lot to him. Devs come and go as is the nature of the industry and most of the time nobody would notice if nothing was said.

If he didn't say good bye. The doom posters would say it was conspiracy. A cover up to stop us from knowing the game is going under. If he says goodbye the doom posters say the game is going under. It really wont stop the drama on these boards. They are going rant and rave either way.

quite honestly its sad to see him go, but like a few others have said this may be good for the game if his replacement has the same communication skills AND is willing to make the stf's less zergy. /cry (the cure is horid as was infected before it got changed). City on the night of never? was awsome though.

It's good he posted a goodbye thread. I remember the ... issues ... that happened over at Champions Online when their PR person was no longer employed by the company. So at least this way Gozer sets the record straight. Sounds like Gozer's getting a good opportunity. One that's very hard to pass up. I think a lot of us can relate to that kind of decision. I hope it works out great for Gozer.

I think this game has a lot of plans already set in motion. A lot of content already being worked on. I am hopeful it will continue on its merry way.

This whole thing sounds like a good thing for all involved. I'm sure Gozer will be missed. But you know, some opportunities only knock once.

EDIT: Although, really, HOW HILARIOUS WOULD IT BE IF PHOXE CLOSED HIS THREAD? hahahahahahahahahahahah.

I was thinking the same thing when I read Gozer's thread, but didn't want to post that in his thread.

I'm not sure what is going to happen with STOs direction, but I'm sure of one thing...it will be interesting.

In no way am i implying that the buddy leaving was responsible in any way, shape or form of the state the game's in.

It can always get worse, and at least STO is trying to get better.

Hmm..Let's see Gozer is leaving. Infected sucked. The Cure sucked worse. I haven't heard that KA is as bad as either of the first two and he didn't do that one. So by extrapolation, subtraction becomes addition and its a good thing he's leaving. Beyond that, I'd say he's seen the writing is on the wall as this game is generally sucking all the way around. The more I am confronted with C-Store this and C-store that the more irritating it gets. If Star Wars is playable this game probably dies, which unless it really improves between now and then is a good thing. There's so much wrong with this game it'll be hard to fix.:(

KA can take 4 hours or more, nearly all of that on the ground mission due to the insane strength, size and proximity of borg spawns, plus the biggest room of borg spawns fully respawns no matter how fast you blow through it as soon as you finish the 6 generator puzzle.

oh yeah - and it drops the same stuff you get out of infected and cure and from marks of valor. infected can be done in an hour and a half
