New MK X weapons -> RAs need a free respec

Ok, now that we RAs aren't 'forced' to use Anti-Proton weapons anymore, we should get a free respec so we can get those (up to) 4500 skill points into something else. I'd never have stopped using phasers if they had been available as ultra rares at battle group Omaga.

Use your merit points - you already got a RA5 respec. If you're like me, you should be flush with Merit Points by RA5.

Since when were RA's forced to use Anti-Protons?

tbh, the skill points cost was just too high for a slightly better dps output, and a damage type that is heavily skewed for people to guard against end-game.

I never stopped using phasers, saved all those skill points, and had almost as good of a dps as the "ultra rare" gotta haves did.

Lets face it, those that lust after purples are normally those that full impulse into a fight and will be doing next to no damage with their uber cool weapons.

No one forced you. You are just wishy-washy. I sticked to my original weapons for my Tactical officer since launch after I reached RA and it ain't anti-proton. Heavily used too, over 200 STF and 200 PvP matches.

Only respec I made is with the free token when they changed the skill system, e.g adding combat manuevers, etc.

Just buy one on the C-Store. 400CP costs less than a round of drinks!

Is why I said 'forced' not forced. They were the only purples I can get w/o spending an TRIBBLE-load of credits (that I don't have) on the exchange.

If you ground out enough dailies to get your ship fully decked out in purple antiprotons ... you should have gotten enough merits to afford a respec.

newsflash, you didn't really need purples. They're marginally better.

Furthermore, antiproton was what EVERYONE was defending against in pvp.

Who said you needed to have Purples? I did VERY WELL using BLUE POLARONS.... the same point usage, and I still had respec tokens for a change if I so chose. If you burned your respeecs by not thinking ahead, you earned the right to buy one for 400 Cryptic Points.

I think purples for dailies, even when it was limited to antiproton, was ultimately a mistake. It pretty much negates the value of green and blue stuff at Admiral.

Nor did I ever bother speccing for antiproton.

I do think that the big 3 changes had such a cascade of effects beyond the three powers altered that a respec is in order due to that, but w/e.

Those exploration badges can be turned in for green gear in Sol Station.
If you did your explore at the same time you did your daily, you should have gotten some of those, too.
I know green is not as good as purple, as far as bonuses go.
    But it's free gear.

Also, every mission you do, whether it's explore, defend or basic missions. It will earn you starfleet merits.
Apologies if this has already been said. I admit to only reading the first few posts.
