What do if you are a lifer and do not want to play.

Seriously, there is nothing I want to do in this game that the game assigns to me. What are some things I can do. I was thinking maybe just doing relief missions.
Keep exploring and droping till I do only those.

Join a fleet or a team, and start doing the missions over with low-ranking officers... Trust me: Its fun for both parties.

Always something to do from leveling an alt to STFs to B'tran stuff or you can play something else.

Assuming you are max level, I would recommend you cycle through all of the star clusters in game starting with the one right next to Earth until you get back to Borg territory. I would also recommend that you do at least 1 PvP match in between star cluster. Use the new difficulty slider to give yourself a challenge.

Thats the thing there is nothing more that I hate than the missions. The last thing I want is somebody barking orders at me ...

Cryptic I'm never going to buy another product from you since I sunk so much money into this game allready.
You robbed me plain and simple, I hope you get all the value out of my hard earned money in the hundreds that I get out of your product.

As long as you are playing as a member of a military faction, your going to have to take orders. Did you watch the shows?

I bought a lifetime subscription. I am very happy with my purchase. Sorry you are not happy with yours. Come back and try again in a few months. You have all the time you want to play.

Sorry, but if you made an uninformed decision it was your own fault, not Cryptic's. You had a chance to test this game in beta before buying a LT sub, so if you choose to spend your money without even playing the game that is your own fault.

This would actually be your fault. I knew what I was getting into long before I threw down the cash for an LTS and did so before the preorder LTS deadline.

Nagus I think he was referring to other players barking orders in the STFs.

There are not a lot of options in the game at the moment. That is true. So you have only 2 options really. Create alts and join a good guild as was said. Or leave this game and play something else for a while. You are not paying a monthly fee, so you are not losing anything by taking a break.

Season 2 in July will bring some alternate play styles and a better working memory alpha hopfully. So you can play the STO forum game along with other games while you wait.

I always find it amusing that people who have no impulse control want to blame everyone else but themselves for their poor decisions in life.

Not really a fair argument, because Cryptic changed the nature of the game from beta/early launch to what it is now.

    Freaking STFs..

Its an MMO, so of course their going to add new content. But what does that have to do with changing the nature of the game?

To what it is now? Of course they did! Every MMO changes as it evolves. You think WoW is the same today as it was on launch day? You think it was the same game on day 120 that it was on launch day? Games spend their entire lives tweaking themselves to fit the needs of whatever the current fanbase wants - and that changes as fan-turnover brings in new people with new wants. More PvPers show up, more things are tweaked for PvP. More PvEers show up, more things are tweaked for PvE. Skills get changed, rules get tweaked, balance is sought and sought again. That's the way it is in every MMO I've ever played, and that's current over two dozen.

I agree with the others. You can certainly blame them for making such a horrible product, but you've got nobody but yourself to blame that you purchased it.

The MMOs change argument assumes all change is good.
Chaning STO from a fun, casual game where you grouped where you wanted to hardcore group missions that require this and that class build with no other content elsewhere is not a good thing.

No, it doesnt. Take SWG as a prime example; it experienced some very terrible changes in its history. And because of that example and many others, people have to realize that buying a LT sub to an MMO is a gamble at best. If you choose to gamble, then you cant blame others if you lose.

Your counter about "good" assumes the concepts of "good" or "fun" are somehow not subjective. Whether a game changes for the "good" or not is really in the eye of the beholder and subjective arguements really have no place in the discussion, IMO. MMOs change. It's not their fault you don't like a particular change. MMOs must please the majority not the minority.

Thats the nice thing about the LTS if you burn thru the content you can put it on the shelf for a while until you get the urge to play again or more content comes out.

My advice is don't wait for this to iron itself out. Go find another game that you enjoy.

I, like others, have moved on to other MMOs and just check back here occasionally to see if things have improved.

Although, I come here expecting improvement less and less. Cryptic seems to be completely content polishing a TRIBBLE in hopes that maybe it will someday become something more than a shiny piece of TRIBBLE.

If you do not want to play, then don't play. As a Lifer, access to the game will be there for you at no additional cost until next year when they pull the plug.... I mean... Until the day they pull the plug hopefully many many years from now :D

So if you find yourself bored, take a breather. Do something else. And when Season 1.2 goes live, log in and enjoy the couple of hours of content it brings... I mean... Enjoy the awesome new content. :D

True, but season 2, around the 6 month post launch point, will add the extras for options at end game. Then they will continue with more seasons and possibly an expansion at the 1 year point or so.

Change doesn't happen fast. The end game was missing at launch, so the group mission issue was worked on first. I am ok with that. Now if season 2 dosen't address the issues of no options at end game. Then we may have a problem. It won't fix everything, but hopfully it creates more options for end game.

the beauty of being a lifer is that you could put the game down for six months or even a year, come back and explore tons of new stuff. nothing wrong with taking a break then getting back into it later

i found rolling an alt to be a lot of fun too,

join a fleet and help out others can also be fun

I really find it unlikely STO will be dead in a year. There people coming in and still buying lifetime accounts. STO is making money from C-store. They are putting content out every few weeks.

Vanguard, AOC and Warhammer are still around. I think their development cost were much greater than STO.
