Romulan Ship Misnamed

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
Hey. I would just like to inform the Devs that one of the Romulan ships is misnamed. The 'Mogai' class ship, is really a Romulan constructor ship. The ship we see in STO called the 'Mogai', is really called the 'Norexan'.

Just wondering if it could get a quick rename? Thanks.

    Isn't it actually Valdore?

    AHA!
    Apocrypha

    * The Star Trek Customizable Card Game refers to the Valdore-type as the Norexan-class.
    * The Star Trek: Titan novels from Pocket Books and Star Trek Online classify the Valdore-type as the Mogai-class.
    And then some.

    Since when? And where?

What Chat wrote. While I personally prefer the name "Norexan" they took the name from the novels where they got their semi-canon T5 science vessel, so I'm fine with it.

I really would like it if people would be able to google or consult Memory Alpha before they demand that Cryptic fixes "mistakes."

According to the cannon Star Trek: Titan, the books that follow Riker as he captains the Titan after Star Trek Nemesis, the ship is identified as the Mogai class.

Several video games have named the ship as the Norexan class but it was never anything definite.

Finally, the Valdore was simply the name of the ship Donatra captained in Star Trek Nemesis, not the entire class of ship.

click the link in a previous post.

    Especially this part.
    Background
In his blog, John Eaves has stated: "It was always called the Valdore-class in what we were doing! and this was the signature Valdore!"

I would just like to say that Mogai reminds me of the furry things that multiply when you get them wet and turn into Gremlins if you feed them past midnight.

Norexan sounds like a medical prescription drug used as a sleeping aid.

Since i only know the movie i only know the name Valdore and after Nemesis it was referred to as Valdore-Class, so i kind of expected that to be the name.

Mogai? Never heard that... thx for clearing that up.

I file it inside my useless Nerd Know How Compendium in Section R. :D

If I'm not mistaken, there was a novel that called it the Mogai class, so the devs went with that instead of the CCG name since novels are soft-canon.
