Something that was done in the new update has the deflector going crazy. I'm saying this because I see my ship moving by itself when I warp out of a system now and I am guessing these things are related.
During a normal scan, the deflector behaves correctly: it points me towards the closest environmental objective.
Now when I get close to a bit of data in a nebula or in a star system, and the pop up appears prompting me to scan it, my deflector beam shines out either toward the aft end of my ship (in a nebula or in an asteroid field) or towards the nearby planet. What it doesn't shine on is the bit of data that it is supposed to be collecting!
The way it aims away from the ship and towards the planet in the different situations is what makes me think the "warp-effect-anti-collision" fix is to blame. I don't know...either way the deflector beam is broken.
