You forgot that together with the difficuly slider, more people will be bothered by your game bugs.
Nothing sux more than playing in the highest diff mode and:
    1: weapons stop firing in the middle of combat. 2: Oponents hide behind asteroids, impossible to target, still firing at you. 3: BOs suddenly are gone, and you stand alone against 10 Klings. 4: Tactical cube does insane damage and you are his ***** stuck in an portal. :D 5: Lag spikes makes you take damage, and there nothing showing until spike is gone. 6: Enemy contacts ambush you. Yes, it still happens. 7: Skills are taking a break from combat. No matter how often you click on them. 8: Borg instantly break combat with your BO and comes for you with insane vengeance. 9: After being criticly damaged, the drop is nothing but a battery and an white plasma beam :eek: 10: You are stuck on the map, and no GM responds for at least 3 days. 11: You did infected, took insane damage, and didn't get the quest.

I have more, but why bother. Tell me why?

    But it's a good thing that they implemented the DP, because then three positive things may happen:
    1. The issues you mention would become more visible and more people will bug them and eventually, Cryptic will fix things.

    2. Those people who were crying for a DP may encounter those bugs and suddenly realize how un-ready the game is for a DP of any kind.

    3. The necessity of the Side Kicking system would be even more evident.
