Can you make it so you can leave PvP reasonably?

Problem #1==STO lets a 5v1 PvP startup???
Problem#2==You can't leave the PvP?? Ok if I was up against 5 I'd probably hide...or leave. But what about the other team? Why MUST they stay in the mission with no easy way to get out??
Problem #3==You log out, you leave the game....but you STILL CAN'T get out of the PvP mission. What exactly do you need to do to leave an unbalanced PvP?

I understand that the KDF gets alot less attention than the Fed side...but SOME effort would be appreciated.

For Frak's sake do something to make sure a 5v5 min PvP GETS 5v5..or even something in the ballpark..the current system rots. Maybe alllow 1 person from each team to enter AS one person enters from the other side. Then you'd have a fair matchup. Hell...something to make it at least somewhat fair.

I'd gladly die 15 times by myself; rather than zoning in with my fleet only to have the entire opposing team leave.

I was in a zone yesterday that was 2 klings 6 fed and no way to leave.
I like long odds but not impossible ones 2 bop's vs 2 escorts, 3 cruisers and a science vessel? Only Q would think that was resonable.

It's patently absurd that you aren't allowed to leave a PvP match right now. Ridiculous game design, not even giving you a choice. Needs to be changed ASAP.

Both BoPs target the same escort, load +dmg buffs, uncloak, load remaining +dmg buffs and HYT, unload payload, kill 1 escort in 2 seconds, RSP+HE+evasive manoeuvres+engine battery+engines power settings to run away. Recloak.

    Repeat 15 times :)

You can exit the map. You just have to fly to the edge of the map and it will ask if you want to leave. I've used it a couple of times now.

They just prevent you from leaving with the click of a button.

    No.

I like the system in place now.

Prevents morons from fleeing just because they're too lazy to l2p.

Makes bad players (hopefully) get better by forcing them to play better teams that they would flee ordinarily.

Actually, they simply suicide constantly, to get the game over with as quickly as possible... Guy named Lozon kept doing it yesterday evening (7pm-9pm UK time). Honestly, it's pathetic.

It may be pathetic, but fleeing the battlefield in fear of a superior opponent is even more pathetic.

If they had game timers for the matches that would be a possible solution.

Keep in mind that it is not always a superior opponent. In cases where a player is trapped 2 vs 10 the only superior thing there is the number. Having a larger group by no means makes anyone superior.

If you're outnumbered horribly, I don't see a reason not to go down fighting? I'm not sure what the issue is here. Pride I guess? But it's clearly obvious to anyone that if you're outgunned 5v1, 5v2, or whatever it is... it has nothing to do with skill. You'd might as well do everyone, and yourself, a favor and get it over with. You'll still collect your medals, credits, and everything else. But if you turn tail and run or waste everyone's time sitting there cloaked, you're just cheating yourself out of rewards and ruining everyone's fun. It's childish and selfish.

Additionally, its the matches when you're outnumbered, where you have the opportunity to make a real impression on the enemies when you perform well against the odds.
And even though you most likely will lose a match you might gain respect as a good player.

And if you are neither in it for the medals/creds/merits/points, nor having fun shooting stuff and blowing **** up, nor for the respect of your opponents/teammembers, why exactely are you pvp'ing at all?

I won't say it's easy to win outnumbered, but it is very possible. I've done it 5vs1 on ground (40-25 or so was the final score), though I've never done it in space cos I suck at space PvP. The trick is just to nuke one guy very quickly then run away. The idea is simply to deprive them of kills whilst making kills yourself, so you'll get to 15 or 40 kills before they do.

Here's my problem with not being able to leave, and I've now encountered it on multiple occasions:

While I have no problem fighting on the wrong side of a 5v1 or 5v2 and absolutely love it when the feds I'm fighting against (because it's almost always with my Klingon character) start calling for 1v1s and 2v1s and crazy no-shield combat, etc, what am I supposed to do when I'm on the other side of a 5v1 or 5v2?

I've sat in matches for 10-15 minutes with the 2 klingons who showed up remained cloaked and unwilling to engage under any circumstances. Now, I've noticed that after a good long while, the queue system will let more people in, but I didn't sign up for this game to sit around with my thumb in my TRIBBLE for 15 minutes waiting for someone who actually wants to fight to show up....and this is usually after sitting around for 15-20 minutes waiting for a pop.

As it stands now I can't leave. And in the future, I'll be able to leave, but I'll be penalized for it.

If I wanted to spend hours on end waiting for a fight I'd log into EVE and grab an interceptor and a bubble and camp a dead end 0.0 system.
