Actually I'm posting this thread in the hope that ppl will keep it alive to embarase the goofs using macro bots. There is a Klingon player bot named Khalass@JameTheMan curently botting on the Salvage and Capture PvP games.
He's been reported to Cryptic by all the players in one the games to he GM and nothing was done. I think Cryptic should (needs to) suspend account for this abuse.
I have seen the person in question (I think), flying through T3 and now T4 salvage matches, but I certainly don't see how you can determine that they are botting instead of being a completely lazy SOB.
All they are doing is flying in a straight line, doing nothing, getting killed and respawning and doing it again. They are just trying to level in the laziest way possible, but considering how slow the T4 queues are, its at least someone filling up the KDF side.
Yeah they'd be smart to use a bot to do that, but anyone can do that without any external help.
When they are in an instance time after time after time and they have 0 kill Vs umpteen deaths that's another clue.
When they don't answer your tells or when they don't respond to ppl insulting them on zone yet they keep flying to what ever distination they've set (usuall to the opponents base to get killed so they can score the game) that's another clue.
Ppl can't just decide not to fire on them, because they will fly to the opponets base to get killed which will count as being active in the instance. THe only time it will work is if it's at the very end of a game and they don't have the time to get the opponets base.
I know mostly you won;t notice them unless someone says there's that TRIBBLE. again.
ok, what u describe as "macro bots" sounds to me like a typical Fed or KDF that just wants the reward and not the effort.
Simple mechanic to stop this then; set as a rule, that any player that wants the SP from that match, at least has 5.000 dps to his/her name, this would negate the problem(and negate any random damage dealt by exploding ships which get credited to that player)
Can't say if its a bot or not, all I know is I've seen him waste space from t2 up. There is also more than one person rocking that name or something similar so I do occasionally see a Khaless of some sort actually fighting perhaps allowing him to just blend in with the others that actually do try.

5000dps?! damn man even I can't brake that.. surely you meen 5000 dmg?

this guy I watched closely over 4 matches in Tier4 Cap and Holds yesterday and Sat. Night.
He spawns, then goes full power (not impluse) does not cloak, and heads stright for the (in this case) fed base. His rear arc is set to auto target/fire when under attack. He usually makes it to the base on the 1st pass if the Fed team comes out of their base and goes left to that near asteriod point. He flys into the base and auto fires at the turrets till he blows, then respawns and does the exact same thing....over and over but now that the fight is on he most of the time never makes it past the nebula point because its now contested and the Feds see him as they come out of their spawn base. I watched the same thing happen in all 10 of the Cap and Hold missions I was in yesterday (sunday).
I even called him out on it and thats when someone said "He's a botter" and the lightbulb went off in my head. Thats when I started watching him closely. I filed a GM ticket on him every match.
If a person is flying straight into the enemy base on a Salvage Operation then respawning and doing it again that's hard to prevent unless he's using a bot to do it via autopilot.
Report him and hopefully a GM will contact him and give him X amount of time to respond or be banned.
If the player responds then there's nothing you can do to prevent it because it's not against the EULA.

To be honest I don't have zone chat viewable at all. period.
I prefer to twist the knife as it were in local chat while the enemy are still exploding.
Someone taking up a spot on a pvp map to bot though needs to have swift decisive action taken against them.
This guy is clearly a bot. Had a match against him and his team the other night, Tier4. Cracked Planetoid, all he did was fly towards the planet in the middle and get stuck on the geometry.
Even if he's not a bot and it's just some lazy guy doing this, it's no less detrimental to the play experience. I don't want to fight a KDF team that's one man down; that's just not as fun nor as engaging.

That sounds like alot of Feds
But as mentioned B4 at least someone is signing up for the lower PvP's.

well i won't be healing then
They'll be there the entire time and have 0 damage and 6k healing (or something like that) and have their ship positioned way off into the distance.
I report those tards everytime.

You think someone paid for a leveling service?
Fed or KDF doesn't t really matter. What they are doing is perverting the game and making it harder for thier side to win.
Sad
