Hi, I need some further assistance regarding the Lag I'm getting. Unfortunately i don't know what more i can do, and am considering canceling my sub.
Symptoms:
'Spikes' of lag, approx every 2 seconds while playing. Sometimes this can flow from 1 spike to the next causing the game to freeze, and if bad enough get 'Server not responding'
Looking at the Netgraph, the received packets goes sky high and the ping time will go 400 -> 2500 -> 400 -> 5000 -> 5000 -> 400, ect... ect... ect...
This results in the game play looking like a slide-show.
The most curious part about it is that it only happens from 10pm AEST (5am PST) until about 1:30am AEST (8:30 PST)
When playing outside of these hours, its a steady 300-400ms ping (I'm in Australia)
Troubleshooting:
* ensured NIC drivers up-to-date
* Reduced GFX settings (in case video lag was causing it, long shot)
* Set the EXEs to Admin (im on Win 7)
* Set the EXEs to XP compatibility
* Tried the Proxy, but no improvement
* Disabled AV software
* Disabled IPv6, per my friends recommendation
* Selected verify option (no issues found)
* Uninstalled and re-installed from original disk (was originally using the beta client)
Also, this PC was formatted recently with STO being one of the first things added. Still now i have not added much else. It was initially working fine, Lag Free.
Unfortunately i cant put my finger on a date (or patch) that caused this issue.
The reason I'm thinking of canceling is that i work late shifts. I arrive home from work at 10pm, and need to get to sleep by 2am.
The only time I'm able to play is on my days off.
I work Tech Support for my internet provider also, but I'm not going to say i know everything and have done everything.
I'm hoping that somebody can perhaps point out something that i have forgot, or knowledge from personal experience.
System:
AMD x2 6000(3GHz), 4G RAM, RAID HDD (plenty of available room), Nvidia 9800GTX.
Other online games work fine during these times (XboX fine also)
Running a Ethernet cable from modem, so not a wireless issue.
I have just logged on now. Everything is fine.
Ran net test so I can compare to later results.

(For thoes that may not know, not all routers are setup to respont to ICMP(??) packets, So Hop 5 is often normal)
Above testing was run while i was logged into STO

Ill be home in 9 hours. I can do more testing while the problem is happening
In the mean time, I found an old post of mine. http://forums.startrekonline.com/showpost.php?p=2494620&postcount=27

and a download and run nettest specially during the time you have problem.
Nettest:
Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download this file and run it
A command prompt should appear running the test automatically
For good connections, column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate).
Ran net test so I can compare to later results.
