Any KDF left alive?

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
Am I alone? I bough this game only to play KDF. I have almost no interest in playing fed am I alone in that?

At some point we had some players but most of us went the fed side (you can tell an ex kdf player, it's usually the one guy who DOESN'T fly in at full impulse solo and opens fire with 0 weapons power)
, don't remember last time someone run a pve mission. I don't think KDF ever killed crystal....

Why does cryptic even considers adding another faction is beyond me.... seriously kdf is in no way shape or form ready for release. Even as a pvp faction only - let's face it there is no point to pvp.... There is maybe 1-2 extra missions in pvp that kdf has that feds don't get.....

New grind zones are fail.. ground pve is meh at best....

GJ on space combat it is fun but....there isn't enough for us to do it...

Cryptic can you think of something to bring kdf some fresh blood?

I don't really get it.. they're missing levelling content, which I finished in like 4 days, i've been playing Fed end game since then, and as far as I am aware klingons now have exactly the same stuff to do at endgame as feds? what else are they missing?

KDF is missing.... well ... everything... we have no signs in our bases still lol. We have 2 bases.... we have no crafting yet.... we have no story line what so ever. You know the little missions as you level that explain stuff....

45 story episodes and about 100 patrol missions is what they are missing. i love my klingon but pvp only goes so far and im starting to get a liitle bored ot it. i want some pve and so do most people

for many people levelling content is the thing they want. not everybody has time to get to endgame quickly. you might have done it in 4 days but some people have not even got there yet
or maybe they have and fancy rolling an alt but with little pve its not very enticing

The last patch snuck a LOT of ninja nerfs on Klingon's and even more failed promises that were deleted. In other words, people got ****ed and are leaving. Like I said in another thread, Klingon's are horribly neglected, and we got tired of it.

Like Dr. Augustine said in Avatar: "They're ****ing on us and not even giving us the courtesy of calling it rain"

I can't understand the thinking behind buying a game just to play a small apart of it. Surely the idea is to experience all a game has to offer. It's a game, not a life choice.

Having said that, there is no incentive to play KDF. It's jusy monster play or PvP. Some of us ( myself for example ) don't want or need PvP to enjoy a game so it does not interest us. KDF has nothing beyond it. As I said, monster play, nothing more than a gimmick.

And if they can't bring the KDF up to a fully functional playable faction I have no idea how they expect to bring in a Romulan playable faction that has enough PVE content to bring a player from new to level cap. Unless of course it will be more monster play.

That exactly what I said when they first post about what the next playable faction should be, they should worry about what they got on their plate now and add to that before they even think about adding in another faction to play. With the rate its taking for klingon content to come out I would say they should wait a year or more before they make a new faction by that time everything on fed and klingon side should be fleshed out.

I play Klingon, a BG 5. However my sub runs out on the 5th and I wont be giving Cryptic any more of my moolah's :0 The Klingon faction got screwed by Cryptic and will now quietly die as people leave due to lack of better things to do. Can you really expect people to grind the same missions for months on end and not be bored? I got sick of seeing the same bugged planets, the no-shows in exploration missions and generally a **** gameplay experience.

i play klingon coz i like the ships and the skills... not nessisaryly for the pvp or the explore missions, sure it's repeadative, but that's where i use something most people seem to be lacking IMAGINATION! =o

i like to put myself in the captian chair and imagine that while i'm flying from zone to zone i'm doing something interesting, like maybe i'm comming with my commanding officer about the next mission briefing, or maybe that pvp has a hugely deeper personal meaning behind it (i.e. i create my own mini mission briefings in my head as to why i'm in this particular pvp zone at this particular time)

I don't get it? They were very well told from before launch that Klingon would be a PVP Centered Race with little in the way of PVE and story content, that if anything were to be added it would be much much later down the road, why do these threads continue to pop up? if anyone who plays KDF could explain to me why these keep coming up id appreciate it, thanks! Not being sarcastic i'm actually genuinely curious.

I'm a grown up. Imagining game content is not what i pay hard cash for.

I'm still waiting for you to back up your claim about Atari and cryptic in another thread. It's rude to tell lies and then just run off like it did not happen.

the threads keep popping up because feds who want to have a cloak, and/or fly a kdf ship. so they make a kdf character and exspect to have everything the same except for the skips/skills.

pretty boils down to "i want something he has but i don't want to trade or give up what i already have to get it"

There are plenty of klingons in the KDF, most of the time you dont see them as they are hiding inside the nebulas etc, repeating exploration missions.
And just like Kee-Bhor my sub runs out on the 5th, and i'll very likely not resub for the moment, shall check out some of the other new titles that are available and come back to STO in a couple month.
I will admit this game aint quite upto scratch yet but lets face it, the potential is there and the klingons are getting kitted out slowly.
Cant wait to see what this game is like in a years time, with alot more features and greater population this game will go places.

you appear to be very economical with the truth today.
The Klingon Empire is a playable faction in Star Trek Online. It’s comprised of the Klingon Defense Force, the Gorn Hegemony, and the Nausicaan and Orion civilizations. Similar to the Federation, members of the Klingon Empire will advance through a number of different ships as they progress in their journey to conquer the universe.

Life as a Klingon is very combat-oriented, as fans of Star Trek will definitely appreciate. While Klingons are able to pursue Tactical, Scientific and Engineering careers, they’re still expected to fight their enemies and bring glory to their Houses. Much of their time in Star Trek Online will be on the front lines of the ongoing war between the Empire and the Federation, engaged in intense PvP battles with their most hated adversaries … and members of rival Houses.

    It does not say..
they are a pvp centered (sic) faction with little in the line of pve

and I can assure you nothing of the sort appeared on the website at launch or during beta.

That was still months after we were led to believe otherwise and still, it did not say they would remain PvP with no PvE content, which is what is happening.
We are being blinded by the promise of a new faction to hide the fact that the one they should have developed is forgotten about.

You don't get it because you don't want to. KDF cannot show kits/armor, no crafting (as stated before),
no storyline, forced to pvp to level(in empty maps, no less), no real options to customize ships,

    need I go on?

besides all this and more, I still like the game.:)

The information was made available before the game released.

If people were "blinded" then it was due to not checking out the information available.

If people purchased the game without doing any research, you can hardly feel bad for them, they brought this upon themselves.

    Personal responsibility and all...

I have to call BS on some of what the OP says.

Lately, I have been seeing more Klingons around. I even have a screenshot of 8 players in orbit around Qonos. While 8 players isn't a plethora is does mean that he isn't alone obviously. It has gotten bad enough that some Klings are having to race to get to the exploration missions.

I understand that the OP is probably going of his perspective and I can respect that. However, I think he is embellishing the truth a bit.

As far as these threads are concerned. That is the reason I have been attempting to take screenshots and pay attention to the amount of players I see. I admit it is still anecdotal but it is the best I can do for the moment. (I wish I could get the names to show on the screenshot)
