CBS had some issues with the Nomad and asked for a redesign - so it had to be pushed out. It is being replaced by the Maelstrom (which is ready to go).
We are not getting the Nomad at this time, they had to redesign it and call it the Maelstrom due to CBS not liking how the Nomad turned out...
yes we all know this. However, dstahl said that the 3rd iteration had already been submitted for approval. So you never know! I did say hoped, not expected!

That calender goes from 3-19 and dstahl already said they were looking to get it out ASAP whenever CBS approves it, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it next week.
CBS had issues with the design? Really? CBS? The same people who approved the Victory and the DSSVs?
Baloney.
Why can't they just be honest and say they, Cryptic, aren't happy with the design so they're delaying it?
because if they were not happy about it they would have just said so. memory alpha and the next task force were delayed because of bugs, that they had to work out, thats why its only hit tribble today. plain and simple.
i highly doubt they not only lied but gave a pretty detailed explanation in another thread of why it was delayed just to 'cover themselves'
CBS gets to approve all content, cannon or not, part of that wonderful licensing agreement Cryptic picked up from perpetual...
Of course it goes through them.
My point is, if they approved an insipid, ugly, non-Federation, non-Star Trek garbage scow like the Victory then they ought to approve anything. They'd approve a box with an engine on it.
Mind you a box with an engine on it would be an improvement.
...
Wait. I shouldn't have said the Victory should be hauling garbage. It should be hauled away AS GARBAGE!

Your pretty angry about the Victory, thank god theres nothing forcing you to use it right? problem solved.

You fail at classic Star Trek.
Also you miss the point. It's a terrible design which has no place in Star Trek but CBS approved it.
Thus the idea that they'd have some issue over the minute details of the Nomad is laughable.

you do realise that that just your opinion. if you think it looks terrible then fair enough, does not mean others do or that they dont check things.
considering neither you or i have no idea what the issue was, you think they are lying and just making things up?

Every single person I've talked to agrees that the Victory is a terrible design.
At best it just doesn't fit in with Starfleet designs. It's essentialyl a capsized cruise liner with four nacelles bolted on.

Cryptic throws up the CBS card every time there's a design delay, or Cryptic apologists throw it up to excuse anything like the lack of classic Federation ships or the removal of weapon colouring.
Why don't I believe it? Because the things CBS have approves make little sense at best and are blatant violations of canon at worst, like Klingon joined Trills.
Thus CBS are clearly rubberstampers, and rubberstampers wouldn't care about the Nomad.

Classic Trek?
Is this Pre Voyager? Pre DS9? Cause the designs have always been taking a very drastatic shift away from the classic looks.
Is the Victory wierd looking? Yes.
Is the Victory a bit out of its element when it comes to "classical" designs in trek? Yes.
Does it really change the atmosphere of Star Trek? No...
Why? Because there has been alot of ships in Trek that just looked awful or wierd. I remember the Defiant being complained about when it was originally revealed in DS9. Because it looked NOTHING like something youd find on the Feds side. Now its one of the most beloved ships in the Trek Universe.
And way to be the Trek TRIBBLE, thinking you know better then everyone else about Trek. That your opinion about a ship is superior then CBS the OWNERS of Star Trek. Your not the only person playing this game. And plenty of people are flying the Victory, which means they like the design regardless of how different it is from "classical" Star Trek.

I say it does. Starfleet would not make such a ship. Period.

The Defiant merely takes the elements from traditional Federation ships and compacts them for more efficiency. It is different, but follows a design lineage.
The Victory doesn't.

It's not opinion, it is fact. The design is completely out of place next to other Starfleet ships.
DSSVs are ugly as hell but have SOME semblance that somebody in the Federation designed and built them.. even if they must have been on crystal meth at the time.
And plenty of people are flying the Victory, which means they like the design regardless of how different it is from "classical" Star Trek.
Yes, you do realise the Victory is a non-player ship of the Jupiter Dreadnought class?
Please don't defend a ship design you know nothing about.

dont get me wrong im actually no fan myself but the point is, its just an opinion. im sure the guys that designed it liked it and im sure there are others who do. there a one or two fed ships from the shows i dont like
the joined trill thing was because a bunch of people complained that the klinks dont get it as a perk. they added it to appease the people complaining about not having it. and why does it violate canon. we see bad humans and good klingons, why not a bad trill that joined the Klingons to fight against the feds.
your just guessing about what they do and dont approve. maybe your right, but dont say it like its a fact
The point is fiction requires internal consistency in order to work, and that means there are certain things the fictional organizations within it wouldn't do, one of those things being Starfleet making a whale/cruise liner and bolting nacelles onto it.

they would not have designed starships with the bridge on the top deck with a small piece of glass to protect the bridge crew but they did
Comments
Wasnt the only one then :P

3TH-19TH C-Store Items
C-Store: Fed Bridge Pack "Prometheus"
C-Store: Fed Cruiser T5 Variant "Nomad"
and yes i dont know what the 3th is either
All that needs to be said...
Hephestus was released earlier than the calendar said.
And sometimes, just sometimes, people yell surprise and something appears!
We try not to yell surprise around here...

The hideous beast in question.
actually im going to stop arguing with you because of this statement
its just a tv show. you cant claim what they would or would not do in a fictional tv show set 400 years in the future
you believe what you like
Versimilitude.
Or would you accept Star Trek ships shooting magic pink stars that turn their enemies into chocolate?
It's just a show.
um...where's the milk?
thats is a terrible analogy

pretty much this. it's a science fiction show. fiction.
I for one like the Victory design.
Yes they would, because that's what they've always done.
It may not be what *we* would do but it's what *Starfleet* would do.
And StarFleet designed the Victory and put it to use. End of story.
