Question file patches

Does it say in patch notes or anywhere, which .hogg / pigg files (if any) were touched or updated when the game patches?

I'm just accepting that the game is going to CTD consistently on these "error decompressing" and "wrong number of bytes read" errors so I'm making a local backup of freshly downloaded hogg files from the server. That way I can locally copy over the official ones when they inevitably become corrupt. I'm set specific memory timings, re-installed the game and windows...and the game again, still CTD.

I'm going to verify full control perms on the cryptic dirs and files for my specific account and admin, others, but I don't hold much hope that this PoS isn't going to CTD again on me.

Odd that sometimes a reboot fixes the issue. That makes me think the game isn't cleaning up after itself completely in memory. Other times, I have to re-download the 1-2GB file mentioned in the error.

Sounds like your might have some bad memory, I recommend you run Memtest86+ and make sure your memory is fine.

Not bad memory, I've run memtest 86, the Windows memory test, popped the sticks (same issues) and my software from other publishers runs fine.

Does anyone know how to find which hogg files were touched by a patch?

What directory are you installing the game to. In Win 7 installing to Program files is a bad idea with this game.
