Please jump onto the tribble test shard as soon as it opens up and check out our changes to memory alpha and the brand new STF. We would really appreciate any feedback you have on these two upcoming releases.
Terradome:
Fight against the undine (species 8472)
You must be level 45
There are no other restrictions to participating in this STF aside from the rank requirement.
Memory Alpha Revamp
You can now look up Memory Alpha R&D progress and recipes at any time by using the drop down on the mini map, however you MUST be standing near an appropriate console at Memory Alpha to create the item. The create button will light up when you are standing near the console. Opening the appropriate computer console at Memory Alpha also brings up the R&D UI.
There are 7 areas of research. All players start with Basic. Once you max out your Basic level skill, the other 3 stores (Energy, Physical, Technology) will open up. These stores also have advanced recipes that can be learned once youve maxed out the standard items.
The research skill you will receive is listed to the left of each item.
Items you cannot make yet, will be grayed out. The skill required to make the item is listed next the recipe component requirements.
Recipes have been reviewed and number of components needed reduced in some cases
There are vendors at Memory Alpha that sell basic components needed in R&D recipes
Any Memory Alpha progress you had prior, will be converted to the approximate new skill amounts. Due to some store restructuring, this may mean that some items you were previously able to make may require more skill than you have now, but it will be close.

The most noticeably important part of this post is that species 8472 is CALLED species 8472!
****Spoilers***** There's a space battle - it's huge. We're talking polymorphing ships, several cruisers, battleships, etc.
The ground portion has a neat twist - the middle third involves finding the real engineers. You have to analyze their movements to find a specific emote. It can be time consuming but a neat gameplay element.
Protecting the Engineers is incredibly hard - this will require a lot more planning. Stun.knockbacks would seem to help.
I just went on to Tribble to play around and let me tell you... LOVING the new Memory Alpha changes. More work is probably needed but this is a big step in the right direction. With these changes, I might use Memory Alpha and start spending all the thousands of anomaly datas I have
A few things though:
It wasn't very clear what "Visit Memory Alpha to increase your proficiency" means. I mean, what should I be doing? I AM visiting Memory Alpha! I'm on the planet right now!
Along those same lines, when I hover over a disabled item (which means I can't research it) one of the things it says I still need is "1 Energy Field R&D". It's a little confusing as to what that actually means. I can see how I can get other research points in other areas because I can actually build something in them but when you can't build anything in the entire tab, it's not terribly clear how you can get any points. It reads like I need points so I can build but I can't build until I get points.
I did figure out that you need to talk to the researcher to get permission to build stuff but that wasn't terribly clear from the UI.
Anyway, I do love how the Ferengi are there to sell you the raw materials for research. The part about Memory Alpha that I hated the most was trying to guess what might be needed to make something and then attempt to find it. Now I can just buy it and get to work.
The new updates sound great, but being a Klingon character, I'd like to know why Klingon access to crafting isn't being granted.
I've been very patient because I understand Klingons lacked in development at launch due to time constraints. But....shouldn't we have access to new content? Its disparaging. At least say, "we're looking into it...."
Comments
Who are you? Are you allowed out by yourself? Don't you know it's dangerous around these parts?
Seriously, most of them look like generic Starfleet guys when they roll an avatar to play with but Salami is the wacky king of bartop dancing.

Respect the process!
because OCD is the new religion.

Nice work guys.
